    Mk 3 Fabia Estate

My New (Six Months old) Fabia Estate. A Replacement for my old Mk 1 Fabia Hatch, which I had 9 Years. Due to my Dad's recent disability, I needed a car to take a Wheelchair with ease. This 6 Months old 200 Mile on the clock Estate come up.
  2. Photo's of the Aerial base connection. The Aerial does come out but takes a lot of hard pulling. Fully Unscrew it, it will be totally loose, but won't yet come out. It feels like your going to break it, but it will come off, when you tug it hard enough (i say that to all the girls!!) :peek: As everyone has said PULL IT I replaced mine because the original was too tall to go in the garage. Everytime i reversed out it folded it in half. https://flic.kr/p/pKT2XQ https://flic.kr/p/pvx51T https://flic.kr/p/pMJGi8 https://flic.kr/p/pvx4ZR https://flic.kr/p/dpPy4C
  3. Have a check to see if your brake lights are working, daft as it seems, when the cruise control is switched on and all set at a speed, as you know if you touch your brakes or depress your clutch pedal, this instantly disengages the cruise control. Im thinking maybe if the brake light/clutch switch was faulty the cruise control won't come on, because it thinks the pedal is depressed. Also have a check of fuse F28 (stop light switch/clutch switch power).
  4. Also Check the Clutch and gearchange, making sure you drive the car from startup cold to normal operating temp. Having had my car from new (1.9 TDI), It shudders and judders like a rabid dog. then once the car is at operating temp the second gear does not engage 70% of the time without scrunching or spitting back between 1st & 2nd. 52K Miler, but always had transmission troubles. Be Careful, the Skoda dealers don't give a monkey's either (see above), they are over you like a rash when buying it, but don't want to know after. (Mind you that covers about 99% of all Car Dealers!!) Saying that my mate has a 143,000 mile, 55 plate three cylinder 1.4 TDI had 6 owners and pulls caravans and trailers with it, never services or washes it.........but never had a days trouble with it in 4 Years!!!! I was the unlucky one.
  5. Hope you don't mind me asking, could you please tell me where to find the ignition live, and colour of the wire. I have checked around the engine compartment but haven't a clue what's live with the key on, everything wired and using plugs seems sealed in resin. Have thought of running a wire through the bulkhead onto the headlight switch illumination on the switch surround. Much appreciated. Thank You
  6. Not Sure if the LED Bulbs might trigger the bulb failure system, i fitted standard LED sidelight bulbs, and it triggered the bulb failure on the dash (too lower wattage), so i brought the 'canbus' versions of the LED bulbs (see video). worked perfect, bright etc, never triggered any warnings. BUT the resistors on them run very hot, and that started melting the headlight reflector, so out they come, so take care which ones you buy
  7. Brought them off ebay for £7.99 the pair. Just type in 'LED CAN BUS' or 'LED BULBS' - hundreds of the things This is one place, but check all the site, many different people do them, at many different prices, and different colour tinges. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/8-LED-SIDE-LIGHTS-4300k-5000k-6000k-CANBUS-CAN-BUS-HID-/320652007983?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item4aa8595a2f
  8. :'( Don't say that :'( Oh well if they do, i've kept the old original yellow ones.
  9. My Fabia with LED Sidelights. Fitted with the 8 LED 6000k Blue Xenon type Can Bus versions. Give off a lovely bluey white tinge. Of course they don't illuminate the road up in front (not meant to), but are a lot brighter and make the car more noticeable to others. Reasonably easy to fit
  10. Tried another 5 Companys. Aviva have come up the the cheapest at £337.99 :| So im going to go with them, so bloody fed up keep getting quotes, after approx 15 individual quotes, i reckon they (insurance companys) know more about me than i do the only thing they didn't ask was my inside leg measurements! It's still alot more expensive than what i intended to pay at £69 more than last year, but i've got to have insurance so i bit the bullet My Bike insurance renewed 2 Months ago was £169 Fully Comp, thats on a ZX6 Kawasaki Ninja, it actually makes you wonder why my standard dependable car is so much dearer to insure than a 150+ mph jazzed up sports bike. Still im not moaning about that, good value as far as im concerned
  11. Just been on beatthatquote.com :- Cheapest to dearest (54 quotes in total) Axa = £466.59 Asda £590.65 Lancaster £694.93 (£750 excess!!!!!!) I'll Keep looking me thinks :S
  12. Thanks for all your replys folks, at least i know im not the only one Because i live in Essex, but come under a Greater London postcode (RM), i guess thats why the needless quote prices have gone up. All my quotes have been done online:- Swinton = £460.39 Churchill = £451.56 Direct Line = £398 (cheapest quote This Year so far) More Than = £424.59 Admiral = £499.68 Co-Op = £543.12 Axa = £451.36 Rac = £440.14 I know these seem cheap to what others have to pay, as whats been said above but still expensive since nothings changed from last Year. I will try RSsimon suggestion, beatthatquote.com, I will let you know how i get on
  13. I Have a Fabia 1.9 TDI, 2006 '56' Plate, i have 22 Years NCB, the car is garaged, im 39 Year old (old bugger than) Last Year paid £263 Fully Comp, Protected NCB, with Legal cover. £350 Excess. Mileage 8000 a Year :| My Insurance is due at the end of the Month, so been getting renewal quotes. No Details have changed, only the car is now a year older, the same as me Cheapest so far over this Year, tried 8 Companys and Comparison websites, same cover £398 Thats the cheapest. Most expensive was £543.12 It's a bloody oil burning Skoda Fabia not a souped up Scooby! Anyones else Insurance gone Sky High for no reason?
  14. Thought of that, but had no Radio keys to remove the Stereo, also wasn't sure how easy it would have been to get the wiring through the bulkhead into the engine compartment :| Anything for a simple wiring fix, without laying upside down under the dash with the clutch pedal in my ear!
  15. Taken and copied from a Workshop Manual. To reset the display manually, switch off the ignition, then press and hold down the trip reset button beneath the speedometer. switch on the ignition and observe the the service interval, the hold the button down for 10 seconds until '---' appears followed by the trip readout. If the 'OIL' and 'INSP' intervals were reached at the same time, depress the button again for 10 seconds to reset the remaining intervals.
