Have a VRs 4 x 4 TDi and fuel consumption is the only disappointing aspect of the car. Averaging 44mpg on my 30 mile each way commute on the M8 where speed varies from 50mph to 75mph. It can vary greatly on seemingly similar runs from 39mpg to 49mpg, perhaps due to DPF regen. Steady 70 - 75mph only seems to average 39mpg without any spirited acceleration or braking. Rest of the car is terrific after 6,000 miles.

Is there any way to force the box to change to 6th when in Sport on the motorway. Using paddles only changes it for a short time then it reverts to 5th. Can obviously take it out of sport on the gear lever. Have I missed something? David

I have VRs Estate 4 x 4, DSG and disappointed that my 30 mile commute on the M8 gives between 42 - 47mpg. No obvious reason for the variation except, perhaps, regen. Car is fantastic and this is the only disappointment. Normal commute rarely gets above 50mph but running at a steady 75mph (when I get the chance) only gives 42mpg which I think is very poor.

Thanks, I will check it out as I stay in Cambuslang. What product was it and has anyone had it on their car for a while who can comment on it's long term survival?

Where did you get the coating done? Can I ask how much?

How can you tell if it's performing a Regen apart from when you stop the engine and the fan keeps running?

As above and is it only active in sport mode?

Looking to buy a pre-registered VRs and wonder when the diesel became compliant. Was it the same time as SatNav became standard fitment?
