Hi, got an 08 plate 1.6 fabia sport petrol and I am looking to upgrade the headlight bulbs but I can only find the dipped beam ones, do main beem and dipped work on the same bulb even though its a H7 bulb ? thanks

Hi, my mum has a 2004 fabia elegance with original factory fitted sensors and they are starting to play up. When you select reverse gear the normal distance beep sounds 3 or 4 times but then it just gives a louder beep with a longer tone and then silence, even if your inches away from the object behind you they still dont work ! Can anything be replaced or will it have to be a whole new kit, thanks

The problem I have is that the A/C unit got damaged when in a small shunt and I dont really want to pay for a new unit etc

Is it possible to remove the air con unit off the 1.4 8v mpi, would I need to move alternator and tensioners etc. Anyone got any ideas, or pics of a non air con fabia 1.4 mpi

Dont know about you guys but has anyone seen a silver vrs with the 17" octavia alloys on it. I used the searches and looked on the web but all I can find is black and the blue SE with them fitted. Just interested to see what it would look like thanks

Yeah I would like to use an engine with the same mounts and layout, I think my best bet will be to get a 1.4 16v sport out of a seat or skoda. As far as I know its just the engine, gearbox, ecu and a bit out of the loom that I will need. Can anyone confirm this ?

Right before anyone starts I have used the search but it didnt help much. I have got my damaged fabia to repair and I want to replace the 1.4 mpi engine with something a bit more nippy. I was thinking something along the lines of the 100bhp 1.4 then tuning it up a little or a 1.6 etc Does the 1.6 polo gti engine fit into the fabia ? Can anyone else think of something similar, I dont wont to go up to 1.8 20v turbo though ! Thanks, any ideas welcome

As title really, building up a set of S/H 288mm vrs front brakes and could do with new pistons and seals. Anyone know any part numbers or where to get them from ? thanks

Yeah, 256mm is standard issue with those fabias. Also I dont know if the brake servo would like the 312's, or is it the same servo fitted to all fabias including vrs ?

One step a head of you there Vindaloo, i bought some used 288 calipers and carriers a while ago but just looking for some hubs now. I am sure the 288's along with a set of good discs and pads will stop me quick enough, and with no ABS the 312's may want to lock up a bit more often

Thanks for the replys now I just need to decide if I am going to fit the 15" alloys and the 288mm or get some 16" and go balls out and get some 312's Bearing in mind it is just a 1.4 at the end of the day but I want really good brakes

As title really, have got 15" alloys on my fabia and thinking about fitting the standard vrs brakes to it, but I dont know if the alloy will clear the 288mm brake disc. Or is it just better to get 16" and put 312mm discs onto it Thanks

I was wondering if the AC system could be removed from a 2000 fabia comfort. Reason being is that I had a front end shunt and the AC is damaged and I dont want to repair it as I never used it anyway. As for removal I know the compressor, condensor, pipes and air drier etc will all have to go. Would I be able to put the alternator up to where the compressor was as like the non AC models ? Does anyone know anything about these ?

Recieved both my skoda CD's in the post this morning, bought of ebay for £11 ish. Loaded them up into the computer when I came home from work and I am very pleased. With some information of a skoda model e.g year, eng code, chassis number you can find out just about everything you would ever need to know about your model. Anyone else got similar discs to this ? Would highly recommend these to other Skoda DIY ers.
