  1. Thanks for your replies, I ended up just replacing the clutch and it fixed the problem. 3 of the spring retainers on the clutch had snapped off and one of the springs was missing when I took the clutch out. FYI the slave cylinder is externally mounted on my 1.8tsi FE 1Z3 (gearbox name was MDP 02S). It's located on the top of the transmission, and is easily accessible one the airbox and linkages are removed
  2. To knowledge you'll need a double din facia adapter, and a adapter harness to go between the unit and car. Not sure about the battery drain issue though sorry.
  3. Hi all, Yesterday it was ****ing it down and I was out driving, had to go through a few deep puddle. After going through one in perticular, my foot slipped and in slammed the accelerator down, redlining the car in first. Once I came to change gear I found I couldn't get out of gear. I had to turn off my car, put the car in gear, and then start the car. Even when the clutch is fully depressed the car will crawl forwards. After a while yesterday the car start changing fine, even this morning it was. I come to drive it tonight and I have to rev match perfectly between road speed and engine speed to get it in and out of gear, and even then it's a stuggle, so I turned back. Tl;dr car won't change gear after getting wet and being revved hard, but the fault is intermittent. Car crawls when in gear and clutch fully depressed Any ideas? I guess it's clutch related
  4. My 2010 FL 1.8tsi ended up being 288mm front discs I believe. Ring up GSF and they'll be able to tell you exactly which ones
  5. My Skoda is great compared to my old (15 plate, but now I've joined skoadlife) mk7.5 fiesta, the thing used to mist up all the time and was terrible. Good car besides that though
  6. Anyone know if 50mm struts will still work fine with my car? I've measured mine and they're 55mm
  7. Cheers for that, I'm after a good ride still so I'll look at the st kit abit more in depth, also a cheaper
  8. Cheers, I'm leaning that way, gotta wait till pay day now
  9. @hobbes42 thanks, I'm leaning towards the H&Rs at the moment, although the German Ebay shop selling the B12s is quite appealing
  10. @tubbytommy I am well aware of that thank you @black Vrs Oct, I know he really is here to brighten up our day. I'm going to do bushes at the same time, make a day of it
  11. @tubbytommy im well aware of that, but the Octavia is the fastest car I could insure for under 2.5k. I'm just looking to make it a little better. @wiilydog I hadn't looked on eBay for the B12 kit, but on their shop it was stretching out of my price range. The H&R were at the top of my budget really. I'll definitely take a look though thanks
  12. Hi all, I'm looking for some new suspension for my Octavia, to make it abit quicker in the corners (and I can't lie, I like my cars a little lower). I'm going for a non coilover setup. So far these are the contenders for my money: H&R ST suspension AR Koni suspension Does anyone have any experience with these companies at all, I've heard good things about H&R but I haven't heard of any of the others. Does anyone know if they're any good to use? Thanks in advance FYI I have a 2010 octy 1z3 1.8 TSI CDAB
  13. It's actually gone terribly, the Pistons and piston rings are worn I believe, so it's using about 250-500ml every 250 miles of oil. Going to get a reconditioned engines with the new spec Pistons, rings and conrods because besides that the car is great
  14. Hi Everyone, Just bought myself a Skoda Octavia mk2 facelift 1.8 TSI and love it so far. Have abit of work to do on the weekend, rear pads and discs, oil change, cabin filter, coolant expansion tank and K&N panel filter. Haven't found anything online but wondered if anyone on here could give me some turbo help. Anyone know of anyone who has put a garret turbo on the 1.8tsi engine? I may be able to get a very good deal on one from the factory. Just out of curiosity more than anything, that mod would be a long way off. Thanks in advance
