  1. Wurth make a thread repair system which is called the 'Time sert' unlike the helicoil which is only recommended for a single use the Wurth time sert is a permanent thread repair. Minimal swarf would be left in the sump if really worried put a blob of grease in to catch any and suck it out after. https://eshop.wurth.co.uk/Thread-repair-set-TIME-SERT-THRREP-KIT-COMPL-M5-M6-M8-M10-M12/09649617.sku/en/GB/GBP/

  3. Sorry did not list what the motor is 130bhp 1.9 tdi pd octavia 2004 The turbo has covered 130k looking for a hybrid replacement any recommendations will greatly appreciated Cheers
  4. Has any one tried one of the hybrid turbos ftom turbo spec on the evil bay by any chance? My turbo packed up on Saturday night.fitted my spare but that is 130 and whining s little also. Time for a new one thought I may go down the hybrid route as I have junked egr cat with a darkside side mount intercooler upgrade should improve on what is already a grand motor.
  5. Changed the tandem pump this morning Has made a noticeable difference much qureter now still a little noisier than my last motor. Have been told it may have a blockage in the breather which magnifies the sound. Really canot be bothered to look at it lol Thanks for the information
  6. Having just got out if the workshop after repairing the towbar It suffered a rather hard interface with a rockfall cunningly disguised as a hedgerow After some clown spilled diesel on a corner. Can't be harder to change the pump than straighten and repair that lot lol

  11. Hello all I have a mk1 Octavia 130 1.9tdi pd 2004 Syncro in third has been ropey for about 20k so when the clutch started to slip a few weeks ago it was time to transplant the engine and box for Seat Leon 130 tdi I had acquired last year with 100k of easy miles on the clock. New cam belt kit New dual mass with clutch Darkside Developments uprated side intercooler with 51mm egr delete. All fitted tidy Engine pulls very very strongly throughout the Rev range. However it is really noisy when I remove the rocker box cap. I have been told many of the pd motors sound like this, but my previous one was quiet I will attempt to post a video or a recording of the noise on here Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated Regards all.
