  1. Hello My recirculation button on my MK1 Skoda Fabia VRS has started to stop working. It comes on when I press the button, but then goes off by itself after less than 30 seconds. It blows out warm and cold air and the air con works as it should. However it's just my Recirculation button that doesn't seem to stay on like it used too Has anyone had this problem before and got a solution?
  2. Hello, The weekend just gone, I changed my belts and waterpump, with brand new coolant. However I've noticed that when I'm driving after a while the water temperature, goes to 90degrees and stays there, however when ever I pull up at work and leave my car on, it then goes down to about 70-80 degrees. It never done this before I done the belts and the pump. I have done plenty and cambelts before on my cars and never had anything like this. Any ideas?
  3. Sorry about the late reply, just seen this. It's the green wire that requires earthing for the dvd system to work on the double din
  4. Hi. I'm trying to connect up my double din DVD wire but can't find anywhere to connect it inside the radio housing itself. Is there anywhere I can attach it to near the radio that's easy to get to?
  5. Hi Just wondered where I can connect my Double Din DVD wire. Is there anywhere in the radio housing itself to connect it to or anywhere near. Just want it connected. Thanks James
  6. Sorted. Found out it was a blown 5amp fuse located in slot number 10.
  7. Vindaloo. You are a life saver! Thank you very much.
  8. Hi. My car used to unlock itself when I'd remove the key from the ignition. However now it doesn't. How can I get this back to normal? Many thanks, James
  9. Hello, as stated above. Does anyone know what type of bulb is in the Skoda Fabia VRS MK1 factory xenon headlights?
  10. Hi Steve. Thanks for your reply. That's what I thought it was down to the gearbox and battery all being on that side! So it should be okay then, being like that. As long as the front height matches both sides and the rears? Another question is the coilovers theirselves. This is the first time I've ever ran coilovers, how far can you wind them down, without worrying it will be loose. The rears I'm nearly all the way down and don't fancy the spring popping out whilst I'm driving, especially if I'm going a bit quick around corners! (Although I'm sure this is unlikely) And don't fancy it coming loose on the front either, so just curious if it's okay to run them quite/all the way down without worrying.
  11. Hi, I brought some AP Coilovers for my Skoda Fabia VRS MK1. When I put them on, I set the fronts at the same and the rears at the same height and I was slowly lowering it over the weeks. On the back I'm now a few threads from the bottom. However, when I came to lower the fronts yesterday, I noticed that I'm 6 threads from the bottom on the passenger side, but on the drivers I have a lot more, maybe 10+ threads. Everytime I have lowered it. I pushed up and down on each corner and drove it around the block to settle it in and then measured it on flat level ground from the same spot of the wheel to middle of the arch on each side. They both measure at the same height. Is this because of weight distribution, having to lower one side more than the other having to accommodate for weight for the gearbox and battery on the passenger side. But to me, that doesn't make much sense. Because if it was to allow for weight from those, wouldn't the threads be higher than that on the drivers side. So it would balance it out? If anyone could help me understand why it's like this, that would be a great help.
  12. Late reply, I've had a look and found out that my actual headlight housing is broke, and it's completely aiming at the floor. The garage I brought it from gave it a 'Full years MOT' Is it easy to take a headlight apart to try and repair it. Because otehrwise it's £670 for a new headlight from Skoda themselves. I've found some on eBay with some DRLS built in. However, it says they're not for use with Factory HID or Xenon cars. Will this matter if I cut into the wires and wire it up myself, with new bulbs and HID Kit?
  13. Hello, new to this site. I'm having some trouble with my headlights on my 2006 Fabia VRS. It has the xenon headlights, I'm currently looking to upgrade the bulbs as they're quite dull. What bulb type would I need to get, or can I retrofit an aftermarket HID kit to my headlights and remove the existing ballast on the passenger side? Had a go earlier to try and find out what bulb type I needed, but couldn't get any room to remove the actual xenon part, to see what type of bulb it is!
