  1. My octavia 2 2.0 140 2010. Glowplug light flashing, no codes showing. Glowplugs have been checked. Any ideas?
  2. Thanks wino, ill get on to it now..
  3. Ok. I have tried tracing the wires and have found 3 that have continuity between the pedal and the ecu, would hou have any idea that wires go connect to where ? Theres a white wire, grey and red, also a grey and blue (i think) that dont appear to go to the ecu. Any idea where ghey go to so i can test them? Thanks.
  4. Hi again wino. Well its finaly stopped raining here in swansea and im out with tha skoda again. Did you get chance to look at your wiring diagrams? Ive a feeling that after disturbing the wiring to repair the other fault, another wire may be corroded and snapped. Hence my new fault code and flashing glowplug light.
  5. Thanks winoπŸ‘
  6. Hi wino. Good news (and bad). Firstly i found the red and black wire and it had corroded through. I stripped it back to good wire and replaced it. I then deleted any codes and the check engine light has stayed off. Yay. Now the glow plug light is flashing. 🀯. Anyway it gets better. After i went down to the garage today, my neighbour gave me a few quids worth diesel from a can in his garage as my car was very low on fuel. πŸ€—. Nise guy. That, turned out to be petrol for his mower. So i then put about Β£40 worth of diesel in with the petrol after several trips (in my other car) with my jerry can. Assured by the local garage it would be ok.. Any how, the car runs as sweet as ever. So. My scanner throughs up the code p212200 throttle sensor/swtch B, circuit low imput. Now. To embaraced to ask for your help again i looked online and see that may be linked to the O2 sensor. In my tiny mind im thinking that it could be because of the petrol in the diesel?. So im here again humbling myself to you. Or am i again urinating into the wind?. Ps. Have you ever thought of mooving to swanseaπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ€―πŸ€―?
  7. Ill strip it all down again and try to trace the wires back. Ive checked any connectors ive seen, but i suspect theres more under the e box tray. I tested it several times more with a new fuse and i cant seem to get any reading from it now. I also checked continuity from the fuse and theres no cicuit. Yes it looks like that explains it. Ill let you lnow the outcome.
  8. Ok so re chcked the 92 and fuse 10. 12.6v at fuse 10 and 0.2v at 92. Black and red wire.
  9. Yes wino its the same here in wales.
  10. Theres a rain shower here at the moment wino, ill have a look and re- check. Can i check it with the plugs removed from the ecu? Would i have to turn on the ignition to do the test?
  11. Would that be a wire directly from the terminal or would it be via a relay.
  12. Hi again Wino. Its a new day, so. I called in a local garage, they told me to bring it down and theyll put their diagnostcs on it. I put it all back together and cleared the fault codes and the light stayed off. I drove it up and down the lane a few times turned it off and started it a few times and hey presto it came back on again. Off to the garage i went and they used some kind of scanner on it, i dont know wich one, but i presume it was better than mine. It had 1 fault code on it U140A00. Terminal 30, open circuit. I presume that means a broken curcuit possibly a bad connection or a broken wire?. I have checked all the fuses and they are fine. What are your thoughts on that? Also where is terminal 30 located.?
  13. Hi wino. Thanks for all of your time and help today. I really appreciate it. Ive given up for today. I did try a supply to 92 but no change. I did have lots of codes from various other systems. 01314 and u111100, but i deleted them and they didnt come back. I presume that it was because i had removed the ecu to inspect it again. So, still no further on with it. I havent looked at the bits under the dashboard yet, ill save that little gem for tomorrow (if the rain stays away). Once again thanks for all your help. Ps. If you have a eureka moment during the night, i would appreciate any more ideas as to solving the mystery that is my Skoda.lol
  14. Ive double checked the readings and yes the fuse is ok. Would that explain my problem?. Possibly a resistance in the wire? Could i bridge a fused wire to the wire on 92? From the live on fuse 10, to test it?
  15. Yes, it sounds like i need a better one. Another problem is the car has no mot so i cant drive it at the moment. Apparantly it wont pass if the engine light is on. I have done as you have advised and tested the feeds to the ecu. The feeds are between 11.9 and 12.5. Except the feed to number 92. It reads around 5 volts ignition on and engine off. Is this correct?
  16. Ive tried looking online but nothing for either of them. Is it me? Or have things just become more complicated. Im at a loss as what to try next.
  17. Ive just discovered that it also reads vag codes. I checked the engine option it gave me and it said 002751 and 001fe9. Both had a message below . Dtc not found. Refer to vehice service manual. Ive only used it on obd so didnt realise that it also gave vag codes. Ive no idea what they mean. It gives me a list of systems to check. So if you think it may be related to something else i could check.
  18. Its an ansel vd 500. Small hand held thing.
  19. It said it was low voltage detected. Below 10 v for 1 minute.
  20. Mmmmm. Much scratching of head's lol. Ok im checking earths at the moment, when i put things back together, ill test voltage at the alternator plug and see what it is. Ive had a good look at the ecu/pcm and appart from some surface corrosion on the cast aluminium top cover, everything else looks clean and good. Do you know what colour and position on the ecu the power cable goes to? I can check there if the ecu is getting power. Before delving into the dashboard. Thanks again for your patience Wino.
  21. Just to be clear. The engine ECU, is the cast aluminium unit with the two multi pin block terminals and an anti tamper device, thats fitted under the plastc panel by the wipers?. Sorry to be a moron, but i think ive seen it described as the ECM. Or is that something else? Lol
  22. Ok. Ill do that. If it is still the same is it likley to be the ecu? . Also how can i test the signal that comes from the ecu to the alternator i believe the blue L wire should be battery voltage, but not sure about the the reading would be for the dfm wire.
  23. Just done the same test on fuse 2 with the same results.
  24. Thanks for taking the time to help Wino. Its so frustrating when you cant work things out. Checked the volts each side of both fuses 14.24 or there abouts. Same as across the battery.
  25. Just looked at the relay. Its clean and no signs of corrosion. I tested it and it clicks, but only showed 0.2 volts through the large connections. I dont suppose thats normal is it? Surely it should be 12. Something?
