  1. I have a Blueflame 2.5inch system, which used to be on Stuart J's motor before he went for a larger bore, speak to them.
  2. Tie bar off the rear subframe(not the best description), and yes presumably 4X4 only
  3. Busy day changing brakes and wiper motor. Think new shocks are in order, rears dont look very good!
  4. Thanks Bodge, do you know if VW 16" Transporter Steels would fit? Can get a set of them quite cheaply.
  5. I'm looking for a set of 16" steels for my snow tyres, pee'd off with swapping tyres, what model are your VW wheels off? Were they a direct fit without PCD adaptors?
  6. Buy a 4X4 and tune the engine and suspension to suit, biggest improvement I made to the car in the winter was fitting decent snow tyres, and if you switch off the traction control in the snow and ice you will make progress, leave it on and you will spin to a standstill. Mine coped in some appalling waeather conditions and was only beaten once when the snow drifts were that deep I had to go home and get my Discovery! You will probably pick up a high mileage 4X4 for about the same as a VRS of the same age mileage. Ideal for what you have in mind.
  7. Everyone has to start somewhere but I wouldnt buy a car off anyone on ebay with absolutely no feedback, apart from a car parts place saying he was welcome there again? If you are genuinely concerned its a cut and shut do the decent thing and have a word with your local Stolen Vehicle Squad, at the very least could save some poor buggers money let alone his life.
  8. Just did my rears the other day and didnt unscrew the lid, in honesty it was an oversight as I usually do, but it all worked and everything normal afterwards. On another note and sorry to hijack your thread but its slightly relevant, are the front caliper pistons wind back or push in? I'm presuming push in as the rears also have the handbrake mechanism or am I wrong? Just wondered before I strip the fronts off. Cheers, Steve
  9. If its just the mast and not the base, give it a really hard tug, harder than you think, its an anti theft thing!
  10. Many thanks Sarah, looks like I'll be having some of those then! Regards, Steve
  11. Many thanks Sarah, Do you stock any decent pads for the 4X4? Occasional fast road use, nothing too outrageous? Regards, Steve
  12. Lol! Ken how did you know? I have a young Norwegian lady who loves the cold! Heh heh! At 18 degrees selected its still not cold enough for me or her! Just so I know, when you select Lo in Auto mode does the word Auto stay displayed? It disappears on mine and doesnt seem to change how cold it gets.
