  1. Well Skoda dealer I bought the car from only offered me 19k so was a touch short of what I was prepared to take so back to the drawing board for now.
  2. Well it appears there is a brand new S5 out in 2017 so I will be staying a bit longer whilst I wait.
  3. Well after 6 weeks and 700 miles with the Octavia VRS 220 dsg I am thinking of going back to an Audi S5. Don't get me wrong the car is a good car but it's just not me,it's just dependant on how much money I will end up losing on a 6 week old car.
  4. If your like me and don't know a thing about computers then I wouldn't worry about updates as I won't be doing any as I am not computer savvy lol.
  5. I have driven mine in mixed fashion , no particular running in just change the different driving modes when the opportunity arises . Mine has now done 400+ miles now and drives a treat and feels quite rapid in VRS mode lol
  6. You mean your supposed to run them in. I have run mine in like I run my new motorbikes in and to be honest the faster the better .... Give it some hammer from the start just don't redline it.
  7. Well I called gap 123 yesterday and got 4 yrs gap insurance for £150 saving myself £250 compared to the dealer prices.
  8. Randomeclipse I think that GAP insurance could be the way forward as it's a heck of a lot cheaper than the dealers are quoting to which I declined there offer. I shall look into it more at the weekend when I have a bit more time but wanted to say thanks for the heads up on this one.
  9. Just enquiring as to what type and make of fuel everyone tends to put in there cars. When I had my S5 I used to put She'll Optimax (dear stuff) in it because if I used the cheaper stuff you could actually feel the engine pinking so now I have the VRS 220 tsi do I put the cheaper fuels in or do I carry on with the Shell Optimax . I shall do a test on both to see if I can see any difference like I could on the Audi and will post back on here what I think.
  10. My petrol 2016 2L Tsi Dsg is doing 42mph before it goes into 6th gear if that's any help.
  11. Well whilst in heavy stop start traffic in eco mode I have took to putting it in neutral and applying the handbrake but I also seem to have developed the situation where I am looking how the traffic is moving and turning the stop start on and off depending how long I am going to be sat still for.
  12. Sitting at traffic lights going into town and I seem to find the stop/start very intrusive so I turn it off so my question is When in heavy ish town traffic whilst sitting at traffic lights do you leave the gear lever in (D) drive or move it to (N) neutral. Just asking as I remember when I was younger the common rule of thumb was to move it to (N) neutral.
  13. Or you could just turn the ignition off when they are at bottom of screen.
  14. Had my Octavia VRS 220 TSI DSG a week now and done a grand total of 140 miles in it mainly in economic mode as I travel into the city everyday to work and back so traffic is pretty heavy at the times I start and finish work. Anyway it was a bit quieter on my way home this morning (I work nights permanently) so I thought I would have a play with the paddles and wind her up a little. Wow the ride home felt very impressive and in all honesty felt every much as quick as my old Audi S5 4.2 V8. I am very impressed with everything about the car but I haven't been into the settings to try and dial anything in yet as I ain't good with technology but what I will say is the factory settings feel good to me so far. All in all I am loving the car so far as it puts a smile on my face just looking at it.
