  1. I think you need to be finding out from your neighbour the contact details for their builder! That’s outrageous! I’d be fuming if I came home to this.
  2. “Nitrogen retailers - arseholes” Love that 🤣
  3. What Car getting in on this too, today: https://www.whatcar.com/news/2020-skoda-kamiq-driven-price-specs-and-release-date/n19990
  4. I can well believe that but I’ve never known them measure in a customer’s favour before
  5. The other nonsense in that link is that there’s not necessarily any rhyme or reason as to which tyres your car comes with - same model and spec can come with lots of different tyres, potentially.
  6. 10.25 inches according to the brochure...
  7. Yes and no. And not just Canon either. There are some very obvious differences in the hardware too e.g. full frame vs cropped sensors, plastic vs magnesium alloy body, but it’s sort of true that a significant part of the cost is to do with software. Better software generally involves better algorithms (certainly in terms of digital image coding, processing and compression) and the better an algorithm is the more expensive it is, which you obviously pass on to the consumer as a manufacturer. Car manufacturers have been doing it for years too, that’s how the same physical engine can output multiple different BHP and torque. It made me laugh when people got outraged the other year when Tesla enabled an over air software update to temporarily increase range of US cars to help owners fleeing a hurricane and were saying “I want this all the time if my car can do it” 🙄
  8. There’ll be a nice looking demonstrator at a dealers soon then - which dealer is it going to? Incidentally mine took 16 days from stage 5a to my door. So could be as little as 52 weeks
  9. Not fitted in an Octy I’m afraid so can’t be certain but in 3 different cars (C4 Cactus, Qashqai, Arteon) I’ve had no issues placing it. It’s gone to the left side of the mirror, partly behind the mirror, in each car without any issues or interference with anything (visors, auto dimming mirror). Also found that the suction mount does the job well, too, and avoids having to use the sticky 3M pads on your windscreen.
  10. Very happy with my Nextbase 522gw. I think it’s a great piece of kit for the money and a big step up from the 512gw (I own both, the 512 is now in the wife’s car and 522 is in mine). Can get the front and rear cameras fitted from Halfords for £203 all in at the moment, plus a micro SD card but they are much cheaper from amazon than Halfords. Front camera alone is £119. The picture quality is very good, the app is easy to use and view/share videos from and the features on the camera are great. Not bothered with any of the Alexa stuff, personally.
  11. Currently away with our dog for first time in the new car. Have found the seat we bought to be very good, one like this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B075D7RHHH/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_y1OuDbN4A07NE Keeps the dog contained and the seat cleaned. Have found there is space for that, our daughter and one of the grandparents on the back row without being too squashed (9 year old and 71 year old) so as long as your kids aren’t both big teenagers should be fine.
  12. Great specced car for that price, very impressive.
  13. No, not a perk I have in my job sadly, just a very good lease deal.
  14. Seems like yet another SUV, like all the others on the roads... Looks a good spec though, better than the Kodiaq spec to my eyes. Personally I’d recommend an Arteon but I am very biased
  15. If it’s anything like the VW We Connect you can do the verification directly through the app through a video chat. I had it shown my driving license which they took a photo of (through the app) and answer a couple questions. Only took a couple of minutes.
  16. Well the weather has continued to make it difficult but I finally managed to get most of it done yesterday. Only thing I didn’t get a chance to do (running out of time) was the EZ ceramic wax so I made do with the EZ Chrome spray wax instead. Think the car came out looking pretty decent (although it has only done 500 miles from new after delivery 2 weeks ago) and this afternoon’s downpour gave a chance to see the beading. I’m pretty pleased with my first attempt.
  17. Sorry I can’t help with your question but a Sheffield Valet really sounds like a euphemism 😂
  18. But if you connect your car to a 4G hotspot, you would get all those same features, right? That’s how it goes with my VW Discover system.
  19. I replied to your questions in this thread on loads of detail - took me ages to type it on my phone. That guarantee is worthless, though, because they can find any reason they like to drop the price. You can describe it as accurately as they like but they can look at the stone chip on your bonnet and knock loads off. As I already said in a previous post, they dropped £900 from our online quote price because of a less than 2cm scratch and a tiny ding (couple of mom in size) on a rear panel. That’s absurd for what was a 5 year old C1 on really low mileage and otherwise well cared for. Also as said in a previous post, if that was the case then why would Evan’s Halshaw have given exactly the price they quoted (which was already higher than WBAC’s)?
  20. I believe you can do this in OBDeleven. Worth downloading the free app to have a look as there are the one click apps - put your vehicle in and you can see what’s available. You can do the long coding too, which as I understand works in basically the same way as VCDS. I use iPhone so I’m just waiting fir them to release the new single which works with iOS, but if you’re android you’re already set.
  21. Each to their own, I guess. I’ve found it nothing but a pleasure to drive over the 500 miles it’s done so far... ... to make a vague attempt to get it back OT, it’s in a 1.5 too (but the DQ380 I believe).
  22. Having owned my first automatic car for 2 weeks, I don’t ever want to own a manual again*! Why did I not buy one sooner? So much more comfortable and easy to drive and makes trudging through traffic far less gruelling (coupled with TJA and auto hold). Bliss! * unless I’m owning it for driving fun - I have a vague idea I’d like a Caterham in a few years, but that’s very different from a daily driver.
  23. I can only assume you’re trying to provoke me in some way by posting the same comment twice, 7 hours apart? OP: I’d like some advice about X. Me: Well here’s a suggestion for X. OP: Well I know that already! Me: Ok, so you have your answer. OP: You’re a smart arse. Me: I offered you advice when you asked for it? OP: You’re patronising. Me: 🤷🏻‍♂️
