  1. Saying a very sad farewll to my trusty Tiger 800 and paid deposit for a new Bonneville T120 for delivery March 1st on new 21 plate.Had the Tiger for about 10 years an d it's like losing an old friend. Took advantage of Triumph £1000 deposit contribution making a new bonnie cheaper than 2019/2020 second hand bonnies. Got a great trade in from Bill Smith Chester which let me add a few accessories. Busy today with the Tiger taking off wired in Satnav and a couple of minor bits and bobs to reuse on new bike.Roll on 1st March.
  2. In lockdown at present so can't crooss county boundary to dealership. Telephoned Skoda service manager and got the fault logged so it can be investigated fully when lockdown is lifted. Thanks everybody for the help.
  3. It is an exide battery and the only marking I can see on it is 09/18 stamped into the negative battery terminal so I guess it is original although the date of first registion is August 2018
  4. Thanks for all the help, will get in touch with the dealership tomorrow and let you know their answer. I know they charged my battery at the service but tell me if I am imagining things that my battery was a Varta not an Exide. Could be me but I have had Varta batteries on all my VAG previous new cars. Could they have swapped it as the battery cover is now missing as well as the positive terminal protector?? You all say that stop start is a pain in the a**e but if it is fitted it should work. It did work for 12 months or so and I just got used to it.
  5. BigEjit. Battery EFB (exide) The connector is tight car locked and voltage showing 12.38 volts Any help?
  6. Thanks I, problem was logged at time of service a couple of weeks ago and I have tried everything the service dept has asked. I was told that if nothing improves then contact them again for further investigations.
  7. CJJE - took car for 40 mile run a couple of days ago and made no difference. Turned off everything except radio.
  8. Yes, all readings taken direct on battery terminals.
  9. My 2018 Karoq SE 1.5 shows the following stop start status messages:- Vehicle power consumption high. Engine must be running. cabin not at comfortable level (sometimes) Car was in for service last week (Skoda North Wales)and problem not solved. Told to trickle charge battery overnight but no difference. My multimeter readings showed 12.8 volts before charge and 14..4 after a night's charge. Also told to switch off heated mirrors . Also, if I press the deactivate switch and then press again to activate it the central dash readout only shows the deactivated symbol. Any ideas what the problem is? Can't take the car to dealer because of Welsh lockdowns meaning I can't leave my County to go to the next county where dealership is based. Shame about this because the car runs so well.
  10. Thanks , my part of North Wales is now the first or second highest affected area in Wales, together with being over 70 puts me in High vulnerable group so slight lockdown easing last week hasn't done much. Filled the Karoq up 12 weeks ago and have done around 100 miles since then. Also first time in a shop in 12 weeks. Getting stir crazy .
  11. Opened the garage door, had a look under the dustshheet and yes the Tiger was still there hibernating after months of lockdown. Max travel here in Wales is 5 mile radius from home so not worth the effort. Hope it all changes soon.Very soon.Very very soon.
  12. Bought Night Eye LED H4 kit beacause couldn't get GYP's reccomended. They are now fitted to my Tiger 800 coomlete withan LED parking bulb. Went out for a night trial last night and they were awful. A mate came round for a look and told me they were fitted upside down. Now they look to be a big improvement but need a decent night to try them out.
  13. Passed my test on my girlfriends Cub in 1966 after my Honda CB160 broke down. Great little bike the cub was.
  14. Thanks GYP, will have a good look at them. Will ttry to see if they are available in UK
  15. Thinking of doing the same to my Tiger 800. Which LED bulbs did you buy and where from. Reckon its an easy fit for my Triumph
  16. Too easy done. hope your Rev makes a speeedy recovery
  17. Friday, up at 4.30 am for ride down to London with a few mates for the Rolling Thunder support for soldier F. I never want to ride in London again with around 1100 bikes choking up all roads in central London. Got split up from our party and had to do the last 150 miles on my own. Still recovering from the 12 hour return ride from North Wales doing 482 miles. My 2011 Tiger 800 roadie never missed a beat.
  18. Tiger put awqay for the next couple of weeks after going off to Belgium and France to attend the Armistice ceremonies in Compiene, France and visiiting Tyn Cot cemetery and Vimy Ridge in Belgium. Went with RBLR friends from Norrth Wales and Cheshire and did about 700 miles or so. Plenty of rain but it didn't spoil the trip. My 2011 Tiger never missed a beat ands is such a sweet ride.
  19. Thanks for all the help with the dpf problems. After a great deal of arguing with Arnpold Clark over the mis selling issue they finally compensated me with £800. The yeti has now been tradesd in for a 2month old demo 1200 mile Karoq 1.5 TSi which has an amazing little petrol engine. Sorry to see the Yeti go as it had all the bells and whistles being the L&K model but the Karoq is quite amazinghly equipped for an entry level model. I do miss the front parking sensors though and would like to upgrade a few things on it in the near future, having a tow bar fitted after Christmas and hope it will tug my 16 foot musketeer as well as the Yeti.

    WLTP

Confused- just seen the above posts on WLTP. Am I making a mistake?? Taking delivery ,on 26th Sept, of a Karoq 1.5TSi SE demo which was registerd on 1st August 2018. If the test results are correct it seems as if the road tax could go skyhigh . Thought I was making the right move in changing from my Yeti L&K 150 TDi which was giving me lots of dpf worries Only got a week left to change my mind, cancel the px and stick with the Yei. Anybody got any helful comments on this
  21. Taking delivery of a demo Kojar 1.5TSi at end of October. Reluctantly pXing my Yeti 150 L&K which has been suffering with DPF problems due to my insufficient distance/motorway driving. (12000 miles in 3 years) I bought a a spacesaver 195/160 R-16 wheel and floor kit for my old Yeti and am wondering if anybody has done the same when changing from a Yeti to a Karoq. Also any comments on towing a caravan wax permissible weight of 1270 kg. Any comments would be appreciated.
  22. Finally had enough of DPF regens needed far too often - mainly every 150 so the Yeti is going at the end of next month for a petrol karog 1.5 Tsi. The yeti has been the best equipped car I have ever had and am very sorry to see it go but diesels and short journeys just don't mix for me. Hope the 150 bhp karoq will tow my caravan though. Checks say it should be ok.
  23. I Have the Karoq in ,mind but must do the homework on matching my caravan to a karoq. Spoke to someone who has just bought a 1.4 TSI Kodiac and they are amazed at the performance although they haven't got a caravan.
  24. Thanks for all your replies. I have had at least 4 Limp mode events over the last few months and have only seen warning lights after limp mode comes into effect so that is my main reason for now relying on the VAG DPF App. My dealer has carried out the regens at their workshops and keeps telling me that I do not do enough long motorway runs(which is correct) and refuses to carry out any further regens free of charge as Skoda policy limits it to 2. I have had posts from others suggesting there may be a fault but the dealer tells me no fault codes exist. I have also confirmed this using my Torque Lite app. Skoda customer Care were about as useful as a chocolate fireguard over this. Anyway. the Yeti will be 3 years old in September (and out of warranty) and I can live with it until I reluctantly swap it for a PETROL suv . Over the years I have owned lots of diesel Citroens, Peugots,VW golf TDi's and Audi's and my Yeti is the only one that I have lost any trust that it won't fail on me again. . PS any suggestions for a PETROL SUV capable of towing my 16 foot caravan ?
