  1. Being a Diesel, mine were chrome but are now black.....
  2. I had my 184 vRS remapped properly and it makes such a huge difference. The garage that did the work use a rolling dyno so before the remap, they told me that it was producing 197bhp from the factory and 431Nm of torque - both figures being higher than quoted by Skoda as stock. After the remap, it now produce 226bhp and 502 Nm of torque and it's the increase in torque that you really notice in all gears. Put your foot down in 6th at a relatively low speed and it just pulls like a train while the scenery flashes past!! Even with the remap, I still average low to mid 50's mpg.

  4. Had my exhausts painted when it was in the body shop having some accident damage repaired.....
  5. Mine got taken out by a Volvo XC90 so been in the body shop for 2 weeks. Whilst it was in, I got them to paint the exhaust tips as the chrome lets the car down IMHO. This is the result..... Massive improvement
  6. They used Pearl Black as the base and then put a Matt clear coat on top. Hopefully these photos will be OK now.....
  7. As my car was being repaired after being involved in a RTA, I asked the guys at the body shop if they would also paint my exhaust tips as I feel that the chrome really lets the car down....IMHO. This is the result......... What an improvement!!
  8. Actually, the diesel does have twin pipes; it's just that they are both on the same side, as per the Golf rather than being split left and right as the petrol cars are.
  9. I bought these from LedPerf...........http://www.ledperf.co.uk/pack-interior-full-led-pure-white-for-skoda-octavia-3-5e-p-4942.html You get the whole set of interior bulbs plus the mirror puddle lights for less than the price of just the puddle lights from Superskoda. The puddle lights are really easy to fit but you need to be brave when taking the mirror housing apart but you do get an installation instruction CD as well. There is also the video on YouTube to show how to change these......https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rcNjrArG-KI&feature=youtu.be Also, no warnings on the maxidot.
  10. Although mine is a hatchback in Quartz Grey, it still gives you an idea of how it looks. IMHO, it is one of the best colours for the vRS; the others being Race Blue and Candy White, although there are a lot of both these colours here!
  11. As it's a company car, the lease Co. we get them from had it done for me before I took delivery, so if it was going to be increasing the insurance, they wouldn't let me have it done.
  12. Rather than paying out £200 for the sunset glass which, IMHO, is not dark enough at 35% tint, I had my rear windows tinted to 15% for £120!!
  13. I had my boot badges removed before I took delivery, except for the vRS, so I would imagine the answer is yes.
  14. TBH, it was midday on a Wednesday and it was really empty. I know what you mean though as it took me 3 hours to get from Maidstone to Heathrow yesterday which I can normally do in an hour
  15. Had my vRS Diesel since 10th May and have covered 3.1k miles - average 51.2 MPG and I don't drive like a Nun either! Most trips are to Northampton and back so nearly 300 miles round trip via M25 and M11, so ave speed approx. 60MPH. Having said that, I went to a meeting at Heathrow last week and had plenty of time to get there so set the cruise at 70 MPH at returned an av 60 MPG!!.........
  16. Thanks for the nice comments. I thought for a long time about colour and wheel combinations and wanted something that was not as "common" as race blue or white with the anthracite wheels but it makes the car look a bit more understated and harder to work out what it is, which is a good thing IMHO. So many boy racers have a good look and then realise what the car is before backing off LOL I should add that there is nothing wrong with white or race blue, in fact I like the car in both colours but you don't see many in quartz grey which is why I chose it in the end. I also asked for no badges to be added during the build and so all I have are the vRS badges on the boot and front grill.
  17. It actually cost £200 to have the aftermarket tint which is the same as Skoda wanted for their 35% tint which is no where near dark enough. Mine are now about 15% and looks so much better than those I have seen with the factory tint. It looks more like the darker Audi, BMW, Merc tint.
  18. Just getting round to posting some pics after 1 month....... Rear windows have now been "extra tinted" to about 15% as the standard factory sunset tint is rubbish IMHO!
