  1. Hi Roy. Are you still happy with your choice of QVIA AR790 WD – 2CH DASH CAMERA? I'm looking at buying it, and was wondering how you got on with it over your six months of use- any likes/dislikes or faults? It's showing up as being over £329.99 to £469.99 if im on the right website. Was it worth that? Thanks for the detailed post. Perfect. Benny
  2. I don't know who you are asking this question of dg360, but in my case, I have used the a.c in winter and summer in all the cars I owned and never had any issues. When I brought it into the first skoda garage (where I bought it) they couldn't fix it as the superb has a new type of coolant gas system and their garage machines hasn't been updated to deal with. So they rang other local(ish) Skoda dealers that have the new machine to test it and I'm booked into see them instead.
  3. Did you get this problem fixed? My air conditioning has packed in. Car is just six months old. It happened last week. I drove the car as normal during the day. I switched off the car with the a.c running as normal. A few hours later when I started it as normal without adjusting any controls I noticed a new sound and that it was coming from the air vents. A sort of hissing sound. I turned off the fans and the sound stopped. I turned it back on, the sound came back. So I left the fans on but switched off the a.c which caused the hissing sound to stop. I finished my journey and noticed that the hissing sound had stopped but the air coming out of the fans was not the usual cold temperature. So now, the low temperature with a.c on is the same temperature at 16°/17°. No difference. I brought into the garage and was told the a.c gas was gone. Zero pressure in the a.c unit. It's booked in again next Monday for a further look. I did the usual reset etc but it's definitely a hardware problem, not a software. No difference I'm not impressed....
  4. Then this is a case of my bad, sorry about the false facts! We drive hyundai i40's at work and when someone got a puncture, the signal for the low pressure wouldn't turn off when the spare wheel was on. With the puncture fixed, the original tyre was placed in the boot and the spare was left on the car and the warning light still continued. After a complaint with the tyre shop, who didn't know why the warning would not go off, car was brought in to the dealership who confirmed that the wrong wheel was being used. They pointed out the valve was different for a sensor and a standard wheel. Sensor wheel has a metal square nut on base of valve, spare wheel doesn't I assumed it was the same system for skoda superb.
  5. This can also happen if you have an identical spare wheel that you changed and got the original one fixed but just put into the boot instead of back on the vehicle. The spare wheel doesn't have the sensor valve on it.
  6. It's amazing how you can speak right to my heart Without saying a word, you can light up the dark Try as I may I could never explain What I hear when you don't say a thing The smile on your face let's me know that you need me There's a truth in your eyes saying you'll never leave me The touch of your hand says you'll catch me if wherever I fall You say it best when you say nothing at all.....
  7. Lol I do surely but admittedly only recently obtained. We are told there is a big clamp down on it but I have yet to see the policing of it. However, if involved in a collision, I'd hate to see the insurance company not pay out because of towing a trailer without a B.E license.
  8. I thought I'd post this thread just to see what work loads the superb has had to endure by their boss! I was pleasantly surprised by how effortless it was to tow a trailer of turf today. I've gotten so used to the DSG gearbox and it just reminded me why I went for it. It was very relaxing not to be changing up and down through the low gears when towing. Have ye any photos of something similar or loads on roof bars etc...
  9. I did mine last night with 6200klm on the clock. With the use of a friend's lift it was simple enough. Unscrewed the guard under the engine. The oil filter is at the bottom of the engine towards the front. Not accessible without going under the car. There were two wires/looms in the way of the oil filter so it is extremely hard to loosen the filter without oil spilling onto the looms but just accept it and have a cloth handy. The drain plug is easily accessible too with the guard off. 20 minute job in total for oil and filter. You won't need a new drain plug. I don't have pictures to show ya
  10. When I was in ordering my superb I had to wait for the salesperson who was dealing with a customer that was collecting his new car. He was clearly at least 75 years of age and walked with a walking stick. He collected a corrida red superb hatch. I don't know the specifications of the car but I saw the smile on his face as he was driving off. Salesperson told me that he was 80 years old. Changed his car every two years. Go for it. We'll be longer under the ground than on top !
  11. And I think this is the internal part number of the actual air vent casing
  12. I had to remove the whole unit to fix it so I'll do that again when I get to the car and get the number for you. There were were different parts numbers though, one was the whole unit and another one was the actual air vent casing which slips out of the main unit
  13. This actually happened to mine last week. Little 3 yr old girl kept kicking the driver seat so I moved her chair into the middle. As a result, the following morning I found the two chrome handles on the ground. With a bit of cursing and a little patience I fixed it myself. Give it a go before spending €100+ on a part
  14. I ordered in Colm Burns Skoda Sligo and I am happy with their service. No issues, got exactly what I ordered and all my o.c.d emails were answered before and after ordering & delivery. The only thing I wasn't sure about was the wheels at the time so I went with the black ones on a whim. I remember (last September) I was told I had a choice but I don't remember what the other options were. I was initially going in to buy a VRS but I was talked out of it by the sales person who pointed out to me that "VRS + 3 children + motion sickness = sad dad". I was pointed in the direction of the superb and that was it !
  15. Is it possible to code a constant power feed to steering wheel while in the car? I've gotten so used to the mfst buttons and it annoys me when im sitting waiting for whoever and I go to change radio functions or volume but it wont work because ignition is off. First world problems I know....
  16. I can finally add my own after getting a chance to take a few photos on a sunny day. L & K 190hp DSG. (Round two ;-) )

  18. I think this may be the one you are looking for... http://www.superskoda.com/Skoda/SUPERB-III/Superb-III-Combi-rear-bumper-protective-panel-from-Martinek-Auto-GLOSSY-BLACK I bought it myself for the hatchback model. Haven't put it on yet, just waiting for a day that I can go at it and a few other items. Not a actual skoda original part but it is specific to the car
  19. I have the 2.0tdi 190bhp and I use a app for inputting the fuel records. I did three runs with it, all the same time of day and all the same length return journey. Each record states the driving mode used. Not the same as your car I know but yet same idea as you have. The destination was sligo as shown on the picture.
  20. I followed Gizmo68's recommendation and the following pictures show the difference with the reversing lights. I installed the 80W 1156 S25 P21W BA15S CREE bulbs. I also swapped the indicator lights for philips PY21W LED but to be honest I notice fcek all difference with it.
  21. Yes. I have it on the slowest setting (all the way to the left) and it's operating with barely noticeable moisture hitting the windscreen, causing the wipers to start screeching across the windscreen. As a result I don't have it on auto any longer and flick the stalk down as and when needed unless in real rain when it's put on fully. The way it's going I'll be replacing the wiper blades a lot sooner than expected.
  22. That's the problem. It's too sensitive or activates too soon, which ever way you want to describe it. Thanks anyhow mtl.
