  1. okie dokie i shall have a good look in the morning and pick my socket set up what sort of price do yout hink i would be talking for a head replacement
  2. dosnt look like it i couldnt get the cover off compleatly (lent my socket set out) but had a peak under and can not see any thing red
  3. i cant not see i agree its the head haha i just want to make 100% sure as i dont want to put lots of money in to it for it not to be as i say in earlier post i am no mechanic i know the basics and thats it haha

  5. thanks for the reply i am soo confused theres no contamination in the dip stick but a small amount of "mayo" but dose not seem to be getting worse engine seems to run fine just seems after a while the pressure builds up in expansion tank and spits it all out the over flow could it be a blocked pipe or a water pump or even more a air lock its the 1.4 8v and its also only done 63k and up until 2014 it had a service every 3k miles from new then i did spark plugs and air filter and was planning a full service his week had an mot last week and emmisions seem fine would that make any diffrance

  9. hi could some one maybe help me i am no where near a mechanic i had a sevear coolant leak witch resulted in over heating i then replaced the rad and seem to still lose coolant and the expansion tank is getting a lot of pressure i have put some k seal in to expansion tank and tried to run it throw to try and fix issue but it spat it out of the expansion tank over flow pipe i am at a loss i als have the mayo looking substance but i cant seem to see contamination on the dip stick any advice would be muchly welcome its the 1.4 comfort please help

  11. i have it booked in for tomorrow for mot and a look at the rad i am thiniking its possibly a blocked pipe how could i check if its blocked pipes please i will also get a pressure test done
  12. ok so i seem to have a coolant leak some where i have checked out the engine and dose not seem to be gasket no gunk at filler neck dont seem to have any contaminant in the dip stick and still blows hot air any way the light comes on with 3 beeps and then the thermostate heats up i take off the expansion tank lid some times water come spuing out then i leave it to settle down then i top it up and with that it seems to go down then up spuing more water out dose this for a while and then i leave car to cool and fill it up and drive then no water agan and car over heating how ever problem has got worse the water is pis s ing out of the radiator (left and side if your looking at front of car) then the engine sounded like a transit van when started and dont seam to fire up as normal could it be the head gasket still and also when driving the needle was on red then it dropped back down to the coolest temp :/ please help any questions please ask and i will previde more info
