Hello all. I discovered today that my remote fob has stopped locking/unlocking my car. The key will unlock and start the car absolutely fine, I have replaced the battery to a fresh new one. When I press either lock or unlock the red led on the key flashes continuously but nothing else. Has anyone experienced/resolved this before? Tia

I have suffered from the dreaded timing chain tensioner failure. Had an independent VAG garage take a look, and they can see excessive damage on pistons 1 & 4. Does anyone have any recommendations for companies around the Yorkshire area who carry out engine rebuilding,reconditioning? Have been in contact with a company called Dal Jones in Kent who have quoted £1495+ VAT. Would prefer localish rather than shipping car down. Thanks

Hello all. Having issues today to start my 2011 vrs tsi. Don't seem to have any compression as car is not firing. Got home from work to have a look and scanned using carista, threw up code P2296. Guess if the fuel pump has somehow failed then this explains the no compression. Anyone come across this before?

My car has a lumpy idle, seems like it is running on 3 cylinders, cut a long story short I replaced all coil packs and spark plugs, issue is still present. Strange thing is that my maxidot kind of reset it's self to default settings, displaying kmh etc. Anyone have any ideas or experienced something similar?

Not sure if anyone has took 'advantage' of this offer, but i am a bit hesitant to have a 'free' mot as i am sure lots of failures will be found to line Mr Halfords' pocket! Prior to the new MOT rules if any of my cars failed obviously you could take them away and repair any dangerous things......

Sorry to bring up an old thread. Do you happen to have a part number for the square coupler coming off the wiper motor? My motor packed in and had to replace but the coupler wont close over the new one. Just saw part number. Must read more carefully!

Hello all, My 2011 petrol Octavia vRS is experiencing slight starting issues when warm. I have had a read of the forums regarding this, Battery is showing 12.6v whilst standing (Think it's original battery....) so i am going to start with least expensive, being the coolant temp sensor. Can anyone tell we where this is located? I can find plenty of images regarding Mk I but nothing for Mk II FL. Thanks in advance....

To test mine i just unlocked car by using the actual key and not the remote. That set mine off when i opened the door.....

Fellow Briskodians, I currently own a 2011 Octavia vRS TSI. I find the fixed and variable a tad confusing. Last oil change i used 5/30 oil which i now just found out is the variable preferred oil. I religiously change oil every 12 months. Does it really matter if i use 5/30 or 5/40 oil each change? cant bear the thought of a 2 year oil change....

I have a Nextbase 512 hard wired into rear wiper fuse. Very impressed with it, only issue i have is the windscreen mount hangs low down. You can search ebay for 'StealthMounts' they do a really small 3d printed mount.
