  1. yeah, nothing happened unless it was really really slow and I didn't notice. my vectra worked really quickly in comparison.
  2. one of two things I miss from my previous car is the lack of heated wing mirrors on my SE. The switch has the wee sign for the heated mirrors but obviously not the hardware for it given it wasn't speced with it. anyone know if its a simple job to retrofit the hardware needed?
  3. Thats pretty shocking - the dealer just didn't pass on the info because they knew they would be in the wrong by the looks of it.
  4. she is a gay rights dinosaur and has no clue as to who the electorate is - to be expected given she is a tory
  5. all cars in the UK have to run on 95 ron by law - you might find some engines produce more power on the higher octaine fuel because the ECU can adjust. used to see it on the fuel caps on the more powerful 1.8t vag cars. my old punto GT ran better on 97+ petrol but it was a ancient turbo charged engine
  6. forgot to say it cost me £16.84 posted although its gone up slightly but still cheap. R222 is about £28-30 https://www.amazon.co.uk/S100-Paste-Wax-6-2oz-13700W/dp/B000GZQP08
  7. obviously depends how dirty your car is, I've washed mine every week since I got it at the end of may so the pH neutral stuff is enough. I also use a wax on the wheels which helps protect from the brake dust.
  8. I got a bosch AQT 35-12 for £65 off amazon a couple of weeks back and a 6m extention hose. Got my snow Foam lance from cleanyourcar (B&D attachment for the AQT as its different from the early bosch fittment) and used valet pro pH neutral snow foam. Autoglym bodywork conditioner shampoo and p21s/R222/S100 wax. the power washer will remove some of the big bits but the snowfoam does a not bad job of gently softening the other stuff. it won't take all dirt off but its pH neutral so won't remove wax. you get harsher alkaline snow foams that clean better but they also remove wax/polish. The kids enjoy doing it too.
  9. I only use the pressure washer for the snow foam as pre-wash - don't use it for rinsing after the wash. I thought about a machine polisher but it wouldn't really add or speed up my waxing.
  10. I use p21s which is also known as R222 and S100. S100 is the cheapest version but I had to buy it from the states but it was still £12 cheaper than R222. super easy to use, you don't have to let it dry and it doesn't mark plastics. Downside is it doesn't last too long but its so quick and easy to use.
  11. I think most people use it as a quick detailer - I've got Meguiars Ultimate Wash & Wax Anywhere in the boot for anything that needs a quick wipe
  12. second name begins with Th and I have a PhD (biomolecular NMR if you care)
