  1. Wow! Makes my wheels look horrendous!! (Even though I've cleaned them since!) Time to invest some money methinks...
  2. Same issue All 4 hubs too. Seemed to happen within a couple of days of my Skoda dealership jet washing the car after some warranty work (as well as the wheel bolt caps being coated in a white dried soap scum)
  3. It was a fella in the servicing department at the dealership. Seems a bit weird that they can't cancel the oil service reminder without resetting all of the other reminders too! I only replenished the oil a month or two ago as the new engine was quite thirsty for the stuff!
  4. I've got exactly the same issue. My car's 11 months old with under 5000 miles and set to a variable 2-year service. I rang the dealer today who said to ignore the oil service reminder and that it must have been set incorrectly at the factory. He said I could take it to them to reset the reminder, however this would also reset the variable service reminder and start the 2 year countdown again! The chap said as long as there's oil in the car, ignore the reminder every time I start up and they'll reset it properly next June!
  5. They're also in the Briskoda downloads section: https://www.briskoda.net/forums/files/file/21-uk-radio-logos/
  6. Good stuff. I initially wanted it in the middle of the windscreen directly beneath the rear view mirror as it looked nice and symmetrical there, however there was insufficient room for the cabling apparently. Still, wouldn't be without it now
  7. Hi. It's only on the left so it's not too distracting in my field of view. Footage still looks nice and central and easily covers both curbs.
  8. I've settled on Orange Sport with one red light at the mo. Gave it a good run with Red Sport+ with 3 red earlier (hyperdrive ) and all was fine, but I certainly didn't go through max revs and waited until the engine was warm before upping the beans. I've got the pedal box plus, but think the lighting system is the same (+ button illuminates red lights). Current setting feels sensible whilst eliminating pedal lag
  9. Had to give it a good test for resilience! Had no issues whatsoever in madness mode, however have now moved to a more subdued Sport and one. Makes the petrol feel far more responsive and torquey which is nice, especially when accelerating and cornering. It shouldn't bring on any warning lights or limp mode should it as it's only managing the standard open throttle range?
  10. Installed pedal box plus today. Talk about unleash the beast! Sport+ plus 3, with the car in sport brings on the smiles!
  11. I'm buying a pedal box from DTUK today for the same reason. I spoke with Admiral Insurance this week, and they class the pedal box as a Transmission Modification. Not toooooo bad though as it only adds £19 to the annual premium.
  12. Good stuff. Just spoke with Andrew at DTUK. Giving the Pedal Box + a go!
  13. Seriously thinking of getting the DTUK Pedal Box this week for my manual petrol mk3 vRS. Has anyone installed on a manual petrol and is it as effective as on the diesel? I spoke with Admiral insurance today to see how it would affect the premium as I thought i should declare it in case of a worse case prang where it couldn't be removed. After having no idea what the pedal box was, they went off to their underwriters and came back to me later on. They show a pedal box as a Transmission Modification, which adds £19 to the annual premium. If it makes a positive difference to the laggy throttle response, I can cope with that!
  14. Hi tigermad. With the Thinkware f770, you set via the app the car battery voltage level which you want the dash cam system to entirely shutdown (including any monitoring for impact etc). That way, when your battery level reaches that level, the system will not drain it any further. I think I've set mine to 11.9 volts. The length of time the parking mode/dash cams stay active varies depending on factors such as vehicle use to recharge the battery etc. My parking mode (currently set to motion detection) stays active from anywhere between 4 hours and 15 hours. Wasn't aware that there was possibly a method of extending that time with an external battery pack. That would be great if so!
  15. Halfords are good for touch up paints, and reasonably priced too: http://www.halfords.com/motoring/paints-body-repair/scratch-repair-paint-restorers/halfords-skoda-brilliant-silver-scratch-chip-repair-kit
  16. Mine's running software 0245 (hardware H25) Is that what others are on?
  17. I'm not sure with KESSY if there's a coil light on the dash or not? With foot on the clutch and a single press of the start button, if there's a delay in the engine starting when cold and a quick engine start when warm, I'd be confident that the issue was normal and nothing to worry about If it's just as temperamental when simply trying to switch the electrics on without the engine, then I'd pop back to Skoda for a diagnostic.
  18. If it's a diesel, the ignition delay may be the glow plug heating time. This is certainly the case in other manufacturer keyless diesels. To test this with a cold engine, dip the clutch and press the start button once. No need to hold it in. The engine should start after a few seconds. When the engine is warm it should start straight away. Could be the cause?
  19. The plastic cover between the rear view mirror and lane assist camera and wiper sensors. This plastic housing varies in size and contents depending on model of car. As I chickened out and had the camera installed professionally, I'm not too familiar with the process of removing etc!
  20. Hi tigermad. I've got the 2ch Thinkware f770 installed in my mk3 Octavia. It's a good system, however I do find that when on the move, number plates and finer detail can become pixelated and sometimes impossible to read despite being 'HD' video. Other than that, footage is smooth and clear, regardless of light and weather. Regarding the WiFi connection, you have to press a button on the front camera to switch on the WiFi signal and connect your phone to it. Once you come out of the app on your phone, the camera's WiFi automatically switches off again after a minute or so. Therefore no need to ever 'forget' the WiFi network on your phone, as it will only see the WiFi when you press the button on the dash cam. Parking modes are good, whether you select time lapse or motion detection. Time lapse uses slightly more battery, therefore depending on your battery voltage cut off level, will stop recording sooner. I posted some photos of the setup on a different thread: Hope this helps!
  21. As mine's a manual, it doesn't seem to make any difference with the mpg. I get around 28-30mpg regardless, with about 300 miles a tank! It drives better in sport so that's what it stays in permanently now (especially as it's petrol!) :-)
  22. Exactly the same on my 2016 vRS petrol estate. 3000+rpm and a bit of welly and visibility at the rear disappears due to plumes of white exhaust and steamed rear window. Was concerned that the turbo was up the creek, however reassured that this seems to be the norm!
  23. That did cross my mind, but lane assist still works absolutely fine and housing's secure.
