  1. Hi, the eml was on for at least 2 years and was the egr. Never effected performance/fuel economy. Fault was cleared at last service and has stayed off. Paul.
  2. Due to been unable to reply to pm, here is a bit more information. The car had a full service 100 miles ago with the service book stamped. The dmf rattle referred to on previous post turned out to be a rattling heat shield which was sorted at the service. There are no electrical issues or warning lights. The interior is very good with some scratch marks on the light switch and window switch due to female drivers nails! As can be seen in the photos there is slight corrosion on the wheel arches and a scuff mark on the rear bumber. Regards paul & Kaye.
  3. This car has had one private female owner; my wife, after purchasing the car new in November 2004 and has done 95% of its 172,000 mileage on motorways and has been totally reliable. It has a full service history and since the warranty expired has always been treated to long life 50700 oil which has been changed at every 10,000 mile. It is on its third cam belt / water pump, the last one being at 154,000 mile and has just had two new front tyres and an air con service. It was serviced last week and the MOT expires 24th October 2016. The car comes complete with tow bar with dual electrics, Parrot hands free system, 6 changer CD and reversing sensors. The car has some surface corrosion to the wheel arches as photographed and has the usual age related marks. We will be sorry to see this go, it really has been a great car and the only reason for selling is the imminent arrival of a Octavia VRS 2.0 diesel. The car is located in the North Lincolnshire area and is available for any trial / inspection any evening or weekend. Looking for now £995.
  4. We are regrettably selling our Skoda Octavia VRS blue due to my wife's change of circumstances and now again driving 70 motorway miles per day and whilst 38mpg is pretty good we need better fuel economy and less performance. The car has a full stamped service history and was last serviced 6th May 2016 at 81,469 miles and is MOT'd to the same date. There are the usual alloy wheel flaking issues and a slight repair to the front bumper but apart from that the car drives faultlessly. You will see from the photos that there is a full history for the vehicle. The car is located in the North Lincolnshire area and is available for viewing any evening or weekend. Some dirt may be viewable on the photos, this is due to it currently being in regular use. Car will be on eBay tonight. Looking for £3500 now £3195
  5. Hi all, many thanks for your helpful comments, much appreciated. As this octavia elegance has been such a great car and we know its full history I am tempted to fit either a dmf or a conversion. The other option which I may take is to sell it on this forum. Testament to the reliability of this model. 170k on the same clutch with caravan towing. Cambelt a bit like triggers broom, 3 belts/water pumps when required, longlife oil changed at 10k with filters. Best car I have ever owned and the previous one was an audi a4 tdi. I will probably put an add on soon with pictures, spec and history. Paul.
  6. Hi all, my 54 plate 170,000 miles car has delveloped a clutch rattle on tickover that disappears when the clutch is depressed. We have owned this from new, full service history, motorway miles and on its third cambelt/water pump. My question is does anyone think it worth going to the expense of a dmf full kit as the car is probably only worth £1000. I hope this query is in the correct section and will supply more info as required. P.s. looking for an octavia vrs now. Great site, cheers paul.
