Got my car back after a week! It runs smoothly the way it used to before. I got my DMF changed (older one was functional but had a lot of play so it was creating some issues). Broken part was multi-clutch. It's plate got opened and got free which was the main reason the car wasn't moving. So multi-clutch and DMF is what I changed. Thanks everyone for the concern on this topic!

Sure, parts weren't available, I checked with the people today and I will get the part tomorrow so either tomorrow or day after tomorrow I will get it replaced and will keep the forum updated. Really hope its just the DMF else the repairing costs will really go high.

Well I guess PRNDS flashing only comes when mechatronics fail. I dont think DMF failure shows up on dash as PRNDS flashing. As far as I know I guess only a mechatronics failure or multi-clutch heating or something like that will show up.

Well got the drive shaft and CV joint checked everything is fine. The engineer says its either the DMF or the clutch pack of the tranny or maybe both. Just ordered DMF and will update this post about the same.

Have you checked the rear shock absorbers? Mine Laura had noise when I drove it above 60 kmph or on a bumpy road. I got it checked and the garage specialist oiled/greased the rear shock absorber.

Hey guys I have an octavia 1z with a DSG transmission. Over the last 5k kms there was an audible rattling noise and my shifts were not smooth. Sometimes RPMs increased as if the clutch was slipping. I suspected it to be the dual mass flywheel and today as usual I was driving and all of a sudden the car lost its power. Now if I select R or D or S mode the car keeps revving with no power on wheels. However there is no rattling sound too now. Is it the flywheel failure or is it something else?

Well all of my older issues ( engine misfiring, low performance and delayed DSG upshifting) got fine, it was because of a damaged intercooler-turbo pipe. Since then the car has been running really well - great performance and returning good economy too (6.2l/100km). I was planning to update the installed head unit Audience. I was wondering what all can fit in since my car has steering controls and parking system. I was thinking to upgrade to Bolero or columbus but will my existing steering wheel controls work and what about the bluetooth controls? Another thing is parking because the newer ones use OPS so how much will OPS cost? Also my DSG gear shift knob is bit worn out, is it possible to take the leather out and get it replaced?

Okay, I had couple of issues (yellow electromechanical steering light, loss of power with emissions control message, and airbag faulty message) so I was taking it to a garage today to get it checked and rectified I started off and electromechanical steering warning light got off and I driven around 40-50 feet and i had to stop by for a minute so I put the DSG to Park and again when I was starting I put the DSG to D as usual but when I press the throttle engine keeps revving and wheels do not move. Engine revs to a maximum of 2000 rpms and when I put it back to neutral the engine revs normally (I revved it up to 3500). But in D mode S mode and R mode car refuses to move an inch. The second thing I noticed is that my gear shift doesnt feel normal I mean when i take it to P its quite tight and the lever is not coming out as usual unless until I use some pressure to move the stick forward and the lever comes out. Hope this isn't some really huge issue.

I am located in Lucknow...yea I'm planning to do so soon...I am checking out for a person who has knowledge about DSGs and is having suitable vag com for my car...else I will get it to skoda service centre this week.

Nope not since...will drive it today itself and will keep u updated...as for airbag light cant it go without vag com? Well thanks a ton...I am gonna drive first and that doesnt work will perform this test...by the way do u have any idea about the engine(1.9 tdi)- loss of power, not responding to throttle properly...see what happens if I put dsg to neutral and turn the AC off engine seems responsive but if on neutral if I turn the ac on engine starts missing ( i try to rev it up but seems unresponsive...takes a bit long time to rev up to 3000 rpm) even it starts giving smoke...I even have the engine management light on and dash shows emissions control...

Alright, last I was worried why my car wasnt starting but I found a blown fuse of DSG in engine compartment, I replaced it and phew the car started...but still couple of old problems remain: 1. in neutral gear engine seems okay on accelerating but when I turn the A.C. on engine seems less responsive and it starts missing/taking load. there is emissions control fault too. 2. yellow power steering light is on though my steering is smooth. 3. this one is confusing, airbag fault light is on..i checked the wiring under seat and everything seems okay and all the fuses are okay too. what happens is when i take ignition airbag light goes and comes back again and is constant since then.

Well thanks a ton to all for ur help. Today in the morning I checked the fuse box (engine compartment) and replaced the automatic trans fuse and thank god the car started again! The only issue left is late shifting of gear and missing (loss of power). it feels as if my throttle isn't responding. Forgot to mention before I recently got my DSG fluid changed ( i dunno how much came out) and i topped it up with 5.2 litres. Can this be the issue of over filling in DSG?

My car refuses to start now...it is stuck in park and only the P light flashes. No shift lock symbol shows up on instrument cluster when I turn the ignition on. There is no PRNDS symbol on dash too. If I attempt to start to car nothing happens. A couple of days back my car was having couple of problems as listed : 1. loss of power less throttle response 2. dsg was unshifting too late sometimes (like 3000-3500 rpm from 2nd to 3rd) 3. i got engine error light with emissions control error 4. all of sudden i have got yellow steering wheel light (though my steering wheel is working like a charm) still the car was starting and i can drive it but all of a sudden it refuses to start and dsg stuck in P.
