  1. Yes there was a hissing sound I could hear when the bonnet was lifted. It did get worse as I put more miles on over the days, I did about 150miles. Marshall Skoda have now fitted the new pipe at no cost to me and there is no noise or no EML or high/rough idle. It is a waste of my time as I could hear the noise so I would have though a mechanic would have noticed too. I've only driven it 6miles but will drive it in the evening and see. Hopefully that solved the issue. Info for others who might find this useful in future. The EML did not come on when I drove the car away for 6miles/20mins. Only when started it and drove it the second time did it come on, but the hissing I'm sure most people could hear if you are familiar with the sounds from your engine bay.
  2. Update, they broke a pipe and have ordered a new one and will be fitting it on Thursday. It should only take 30mins. @ Awayoffski, spark plugs used K03C905601B. Can you tell me any information about these? Thanks
  3. Well people who read this can make their own minds up on this issue. I did use them last time for the minor service with no issues. Though that did not invoice spark plugs change. I'll post updates.
  4. Thanks for the reply guys. Awayoffski thanks for the links, I've read those two threads before. I've gone unchecked the pipe but cannot feel any loose ones. I can hear a hissing sound but still cannot locate where it is coming from. I'll ask the about the spark plug tomorrow.
  5. They told me they cannot do it today. I'm not going anywhere with the car today so not a big issue in this case. Still poor service in general in my opinion. I know this has happened to others as I have read about them but forgot what the detail were. Also this is to log on the forum for other to fin d in future. No part number on the invoice just a "maintenance list" with the box ticked. Thanks for the reply.
  6. I don't plan to tell them but when I ask them what it could be, I want to be well informed and not just told a load of rubbish. So I can then gauge whether to use them in future. Thanks
  7. Hi, Just had a service yesterday (At Marshall Skoda Croydon) and the car ran fine for 6 miles but idled high 1000 to 1200 rpm. Parked the car and returned after 30min to use the car the amber EML is on, car still idles high. I've spoken to the Skoda this morning, they sad the earliest they can look at it is tomorrow. Major service included park plugs. So could it be loose connectors for the coil pack? What should I ask them to check over? I want to arm myself with questions. Thanks in advance.
  8. I've had the Heko on mine for about 18months no issues here. In fact I find it hard to believe correctly fitted ones would come off.
  9. I also needed lighting in the rear for my hatchback. So got some cheap LED strip lights that run off an AA battery pack. I used velcro, hook side, to stick it onto the ceiling, which has worked well and been a year so far. HTH
  10. I noticed this too, if you turn off your engine with the manual AC on and the temp at minimum, the next time you start the engine, the recir and AC will come on. So when I turn off the AC before I turn off the engine, the next startup means the AC is also off. Hope that make sense. My car is Mk2 Fabia 2013.
  11. I did ask but forgot what they said about the software. I would have thought it was not a big issue if they didn't do a recall but what do I know Might be worth a quick call to your local dealer if you're worried.
  12. Service: I went to them on the 10th March for an annual service as part of my free service plan when I purchase at another dealership. Nothing bad to report, courtesy car was a Citigo which was as expected. Polite, friendly and always greeted with a smile. They went thought exactly what was done and left the remainder of the screen wash in the boot and the car was cleaned. I also asked for the headlights to be adjusted to the maximum legal height which they did (this makes such a big difference in the mk2 Fabia). All positive and even courtesy call the next day. £105/hr is really not unusual for car dealerships in the Greater London areas.
  13. Hi, There is a noticeable difference between using regular fuel and super, engine run much smoother with it. I have a Tesco nearby so Momentum is my first choice as Shell is so much more expensive, up to 12pence more than the regular advertised price. Don't know anything about the wing indicators though. I also did the sunglasses holder which took 5mins and is really useful. I suggest the wind deflectors, not for deflecting wind but being able to open the window a little when its raining. I wish I had the auto locking doors and unlock with keys out. Unfortunately I don't have the tools or knowledge. Enjoy
  14. Some pictures when you can, I'd like a new system thats is not too loud but a bit far for me to go. So what exactly was changed from the OEM exhaust? You should read the pros and cons about getting alloy protectors before getting them. I decided against it in the end.
  15. Just noticed this thread. I had my car serviced on the 10th and it had this software update too. My car was registered 2013, purchased in June 2016. So it sounds like you may need the update too nez.
  16. I looked into this briefly and read they are just so-so and decided against them. Also read about them being difficult or very hard to get alignment done if fitted.
  17. I hate this type of road repair, and I've been on a dual carriageway with this done, so I know how bad it can be. Though where I live now I've not come across it, fingers crossed my council don't use it. Signed the petition too.
  18. I've also read about the different oil, 5/40 or 10/40, helping some improve the oil consumption. Mine uses oil but I'm still monitoring it and need to understand ho much to top up from which point on the dip stick, the manual is not helpful. I've not had my car long and only covered 1200miles so far. Remapping the engine is something I'm interested in the future if it doesn't drink too much oil.
  19. Thanks for the link, it didn't come up in my search, interesting ideas there with fitting the polo interior light. I'd be too worried in getting it wrong and no confirmation on the wiring. Might just go for the light attached with velcro idea, as its so simple.
  20. Interesting read, does your car still consume the same amount of oil now? If not did you change anything else, oil, spark plugs etc?
  21. Just wondering if anything can be done to improve the interior lighting in the rear cabin? Has anyone installed extra lighting or done something innovative? Just really dark in the back.
  22. That makes sense, from the other posts I've read about my lights being just one bulb for dipped and main. Makes me wonder if they can be wired up to work probably too much work involved though.
  23. Hi, I've searched but nothing seems to mention the extra light bulb and what it does. I've recently fitted new H7 bulbs for headlights on my 2013 Fabia vRS. I believe it has the darkened headlight units as the dipped beam and main beam come from the same section. I noticed that there is a bulb in the cluster, towards the centre of the car that seemly does nothing. I've cycled through all the light switches and nothing turns it on. Is it just there for aesthetics?
  24. If it has been reliable and you want the benefit of low cost motoring then keep it. If you are worried about the remote possible failure then make sure you have a good break down cover for your purpose. A well maintained modern engine should run for 100k's miles.
  25. My own test many years ago on Shell V-Power and normal 95RON unleaded petrol. Car Vauxhall VX220 2.2 na, so nothing special engine wise. Tested this for 1 year , 6 months 95RON and V-Power after. Driving 70% motorways and multilane carriageways and 30% town and country lanes. Power no noticeable difference from this engine. 95RON 35mpg just over 10k miles V-Power 38mpg just over 10k miles. Take from this what you will
