Hi all, I have an aftermarket ALPINE STYLE X901-OC3 for my MK3, its a great system but missing Apple Car Play. would anyone know if there is an after market usb or adapter to connect to convert to Apple car play? Most of the USB adapters I have found run on android System. I tried screen mirror but it’s not the same, you still have to use phone for map changes etc. many thanks in advance

Hey guys, after a long and hard battle with the dealer, Skoda HQ have managed to contact and speak to the manager at the dealership. they have authorised the full repair at no charge to me!! happy days. i have to say Skoda customer services were awesome at trying to help me. Good luck to you all experiencing the same problem

Hi guys Well I wrote to skoda uk with a compain on the issue. They replied back to me via telephone call. I was told they will speak to the dealer for a good will gesture. I am not sure what this gesture will include but I will get back to you with the outcome. keep you posted

Having the same issue... My octavia has only done 44k mile and out of warranty now 😞 This is what I have been quoted for the repair at Skoda in Stockport...! No way can I afford this. I cant believe its such a common fault and Skoda are not doing a recall.... Ridiculous

Let us know what they say if you have time. This is what the official fault is and parts required....

Hi guys, any advice you can give me on this problem would be appreciated. Every so often I was getting a pop up message on dashboard, Error Workshop position lever in P. i took to the Skoda dealer here in Stockport and they have told me the gear lever sensor is faulty and requires replacing.... at a cost of 1k!! £600 for parts and £400 labour!! Skoda told me I can still drive the vehicle but recommend to get it fixed. Also it’s due for an MOT... if it fails on MOT.... dreading it! Would anyone know a good good quality mechanic who can do the job? Looking for quotes. Cheers guys

Hi guy, just an update, I in the end have sent the NavGate Evo back for a full refund. I sent it back to pioneer as it wasn’t working correctly. Some issues where System restarting, bad fm signal, gps not recognising position, apple car play freezing, stalk controls not working correctly. After a a couple of weeks I received the unit back all excited as installed the unit back in my Octavia and as to my disappointment it was still faulty! Dab signal awful, even after purchasing a new antenna, apple car play freezing, fm signal bad again, stalk controls still not working. Sent it it back and was promised a full refund. Now or I am back to my factory head unit. sorry I haven’t taken any photo of install guys I got so carried away by the time I realised photos the unit was installed!!

It works very well it shows you all the details you need. From when you start engine, long term etc. You can also change car settings such as lights, set tyre pressure, pretty much all as the factory fitted one. I’ll take a photo and post it for you.

Hey Brian, I will take some photos when I remove the unit to install the dab adapter to use existing aerial. so far the swap is good. Run into a few issues at first but I have ironed them out. Self install is pretty easy. Well worth the investment.

Hi guys, I have successfully replacement my factory fitted infotainment unit with the Pioneer Navgate Evo. There is a function on the unit to send video to the rear... I am assuming this is for a headrest TV monitor of sort. Would anyone have any advice on which one to purchase to connect directly to the Navgate Evo to send the signal to the headrest? The video plays fine when you are parked but when you drive off it stop and you are warned about safety. I understand this as its a distraction. Hence the reason I would like a headrest with monitor as its for my little girl for when we go on long trips. Cheers Andreas

yeah I know it’s christmas Day but one cannot resist playing with a new toy! i have now got apple car play working and some stalk controls. The only part of steering wheel control which isn’t working correctly is the telephone. Cannot answer or make a call!!!! 2nd problem is the ariel signal is very weak! Damn! Back to the ripping the cables out and checking all connections! Merry christmas everyone

Hi all, I have installed the Navgate Evo, with faults :-( I’ll list them below 1. apple car car play isn’t recognised. Not sure why, maybe connected to wrong USB. Will investigate. 2. Stalk controls are not all working! Al connections are to correct connection. I may have to strip the whole unit and try again! Really don’t want to do that! apart from the 2 issues, all seems okay so far. Will keep tou posted.
