Bolero software fault says garage. Auto Technician says otherwise
Sniipe replied to Sniipe's topic in Skoda Yeti
They said to me that a firmware or fresh software update would not fix the software issue and that Skoda recommends a new radio unit. As a software developer it didn't make sense to me either. I think my next action is to complain to Skoda Ireland. -
My radio decided to randomly turn off and then randomly turn back on. The intervals would vary from 2 seconds to 10 minutes. I brought it to the garage. The Skoda garage said the following: I wasn't happy with the price and they recommended an auto technician nearby. I brought the radio and radio code to him and he reckons that there is no issue with the radio as he had it on for hours. He mentioned to me something about a system in the car which communicates to and from the radio. This was his hunch without seeing the car.

Cheers trl1, they look the same. I took some photos: https://goo.gl/photos/EoqxZQcMSH5GmGqs7 But before I get it I need to confirm the question from Pumpin: "Hi,does your car have Fender or Dynaudio system?Could you pls take photo of your car center dashboard to us?We need to help you check these information first." I've no idea where I would find this info.

I'm loving this thread, its exactly what I'm looking for. I have a 2010 Skoda Yeti Bolero unit. It looks very like the one pictured by tlr1 above. I was about to put in an order for the Pumpkin one on amazon, however it didn't list my car model. Any idea if it will fit? My Bolero will cost €876 to replace by the skoda garage and probably won't even have BT audio. [edit] I went back thru the posts and I noticed I'm in the wrong neighbourhood, ye all have octavia's/superbs, I'll try a different thread [/edit]
