  1. Thanks for your answers chaps. I get what you're all saying. The BMW is a daily hack/family car and it puts the mikes in and the boot is used for push chairs etc. I'm going to look at a used 170 4x4 to see what they're like, then I'll make a decision on the fate of the BMW.
  2. Quite recently I bought a mato brown 1.4 Yeti Elegance. I have been so impressed with it, that I'm considering selling my BMW 320d touring in order to get another one. There's nothing wrong with the Beamer, but I'm loving the higher and comfort seating position of the Yeti. Do I keep the Beamer so that I have two different types of car/driving experiences, or do I put all my eggs into the Yeti basket? I can't decide
  3. It hasn't seen the road since 2009. It was apparently a rolling shell before I bought it a year ago. I'd say it was about 70% done when I got it. So as nice as it is/is going to be, I can't claim all the credit. And a 700bhp Yeti - wow!!! That'll be a fantastic site going round a track
  4. Here's a pic of the all important YB engine...
  5. Here's my 99% complete Sierra RS Cosworth project. It's a 1988 2wd version. All its needing now is for the abs pump to be replaced for a salvage one, a new turbo heat shield, and a leak to the manifold/turbo to be addressed. Once that's done it'll be MOT time. Here's a few pics of it.
  6. I'm very fond of the Mk2 Escort's David, and there's a massive following for them irrespective of it not being a RS. Well I hope that one day you get a chance to get the car how you/your Dad would want it. It'll look fantastic
  7. Enjoy the Fabia mate. Always had a soft spot for them.
  8. Yeah, I certainly never bought it for rarity purposes. It's just that I haven't came across one in the same combination as yet. I'm busy deliberating whether it's worth getting rid of the BMW 320d in order to buy a 2nd Yeti - such is how impressed I am with the Yeti
  9. This is the era of proper Ford RS' motors. These days they're too refined and perfect.
  10. Surely I'm not the only person in here who is interested in fast Ford's as well as Skoda's? I've got a Sierra RS Cosworth, and prior to that I had a Mk1 Focus RS. Here's a pic of the Sierra. Let's see if there's anyone else that's into similar motors. Post your comments and pics below. I'll start with mine.
  11. Welcome aboard. I hope you have many good years with your Skoda. Like you, I've previously had BMW's, and having driven my Yeti, I do not see it as a step down.
  12. Heaton Coachworks is as good as anyone.
  13. What about getting a Bluefin remap from Superchips.co.uk. Their performance curves are pretty identical to most maps, plus you install it yourself and you can revert it back to standard at the flick of a switch. Had them on a few of my cars and they've always done the business.
  14. Hi, I've got a 2011 spec Skoda Yeti 1.4 TSI in manual. I'm busy exploring the tuning avenues to give it a little more poke. In the past I've trusted bluefin remaps from Superchips. Has anyone else tuned the 1.4 Yeti TSI engine, and if so, what ha e the results been like?
  15. Hi to everyone. I've just bought my first Skoda, which is a 2011 Yeti 1.4 TSI Elegance in mato brown with cream leather interior. Am I right in thinking that this colour/engine/interior combo is quite rare? So far, so good with the driving and ownership experience. I'm looking to embrace the whole Skoda scene and hope to be a regular contributor to these pages.
