  1. So lacking any other possible cures, I took it to 'SatNav Systems' just off the A3 in Surbiton. They (Hamid) assessed a faulty main board and changed it and updated the firmware and map data whilst I waited. Not cheap but I think a fair price for a very professional and friendly service.
  2. I have a 2014 Yeti with Columbus Radio/Navigation. It has recently started to get stuck on a 'boot loop'. It shows the Skoda logo screen for a few seconds with attendant internal noises, it then goes to black and repeats ad infinitum. Very occasionally it achieves a boot and then appears to work normally. About 5 years ago it was updated to v5238 firmware. I still have the update disk but it aborts when it compares the firmware on the disk to that loaded, it won't do a re-install'. There is much written on the internet about similar issues, but most relate to the pre-5238 firmware. Any possible cure suggestions much appreciated.
  3. Thanks Rustynuts enuff said! Its going to be the missus holding the phone then!
  4. Update: The individual POIs entered into the portal get saved into a folder called 'Destinations' and these load fine into the Columbus via an SD card. Starting again with the cleared portal, the loaded tour gets saved into a 'PersonalPOI' folder and this is not recognised by the Columbus. The portal does create an empty 'Destinations' folder. It seems to me that the portal does treat the tour as a different type of information, but it seems that it cannot then put it in a format that my Columbus can understand. I am still really not sure that the Columbus can load a 'tour' anyway. The manual has information about creating a tour from recorded or loaded waypoints but not about loading a complete tour. Ho hum - about to call it a day so any thoughts welcomed!
  5. Let me say where I have got (not very far!) after reading many many forum strands: So I have some tour routes downloaded in .gpx format from the Luxembourg tourist site. I have tried the Skoda POI portal. It is VERY fussy about source files, but eventually by loading/saving to the same .gpx format in POIEdit, I got the portal to load one of the tours. It comes out as about 2500 POIs! I have some individual POIs for hotels that I am going to attempt to load from an SD card with data saved from the portal. Any suggestions what to do with the tours?
  6. Can I import a tour downloaded from a website in .gpx format into a 2014 Columbus system (in a Yeti)? I guess it needs to go onto an SD card. Do I need to change the format? If so, what app do I need? The end result I need is to get a continuous navigation around the tour route.
  7. A year ago I suffered the blocked drain pipe issue on my 2014 Yeti H&K - it was rectified at great length (mould had set in!) and I received some financial support from Skoda UK. We moved on. This winter the first prolonged rain drenched the passenger footwell - I subsequently removed about 2 litres! I was very lucky that I managed to dry out the underfelt without any apparent mould setting in. (it took a week!) The dealer has now found an apparently identical problem and solution to Skoyet, at a cost to me of nearly £700. Skoda UK have refused any support this time, supposedly because the dealer reported signs of moss or fungus on the seal. The car has been parked on a driveway, so has plenty of fresh air. We live in the country (Surrey) next to a forest, but the car is not parked under or even near a tree. My question to you learned folk is what is the best way of keeping my new seal free of future problems? The seal has a rather curious 'fabric' surface feel, and I worry that this could harbour spores that could then grow. Is there some form of 'magic' potion that could help?

    Mould?

OK - an update to this long saga. I contacted Skoda UK Customer Service and they have been very helpful. It is a great shame that the dealer didn't contact them immediately the problem was discovered. It is complicated but Skoda UK have made a significant contribution to the repair cost. They also offered to have the car valeted to remove the mould smell. This was done by the dealer and was completely ineffective so the dealer then contacted a specialist who spent a whole day removing the under carpet materials and treating them with some magic mould 'eater'. I don't know the details but it then needed several days for the underfelt to dry out before the car was finally re-assembled and returned to us. I would be lying if I said the car smells like new! The smell has permeated everything and it will take a while for it to dissipate, but it is much much better than before and more important I hope we have got rid of any possible re-occurrence. I may try another large plastic container with a bag of cat litter tipped out inside - this worked quite well before the fix in soaking up the smell.

    Mould?

I have experienced severe water ingress on my 2014 H&W Yeti, probably via sunroof. Dealer has fixed (?) Drain tube issue, but this happened 6 months out of warranty so costly. Unfortunately due to delays before drying out carpets, a very pungent musty smell developed. The dealer wants a silly sum to strip them all out. The helpful service rep says it will gradually improve now the leak is fixed. My questions are thus: 1) Is he correct? Will the smell subside or is the cause (mould?) stuck without further work? 2) Can I attack the cause by some form of chemical solution without lifting the carpets? I have a wet vacuum cleaner and a dehumidifier machine.. 3) Worst case, how easy is it to strip out all the carpets as a DIY job?
