  1. Thanks for advice lads. Checked them out and the one with less miles had the cam belt done and the older one hadn't. Headin over sat morn to collect the dearer car at 5600 and really lookin forward to owning a vrs again. The guy seems a genuinely good lad and has looked after car really well, full service history and receipts incl new ecu two weeks ago. hopefully the car turns out to be a clinker. Now where to for the best remap?!
  2. Aye I think for the wee bit extra and piece of mind i should go for the lower mileage car but I'm findin it hard to ignore the saving for the other at the same time, that extra 1200 would buy some fuel! Any more opinions out there need to make decision to book flights preferably tonight, advice would be much appreciated from those in the know
  3. Another thing to consider is the best option for a remap, would a fresher engine be better or if the engine with higher miles be ok if it was well looked after?
  4. I'm flying over to England from n Ireland, test drive not possible therefore for both unfortunately. Options on both cars v similar, nothing in it, i suppose it's whether there's better valu in 32000 less miles approx in dearer car, that's why I'm in here asking the experts!
  5. Hi folks I'm buying a 2006 vrs tfsi and I have two offers. No 1 has 86000 miles and price is £4500. No 2 has 53000 miles and price £5700, which one should I go for assuming both in vgood condition and fsh etc? Urgency is I'm lifting either or this weekend. Thanks in advance.
  6. Thanks for help lads. Test drive out of question as will be travelling to England from northern Ireland. Good service record key then. Would an Aa or Rac check be good enough for piece of mind? How much anyone know?
  7. Hi guys Just wondering what the lifespan of the 2.0tfsi engine is? Ie would a 2006 tfsi round £5000 with 80000 miles still be safe buy or would the engine be showing any signs of wear and tear? Cheers
  8. Thanks for the heads up lads:thumbup: . Might shop around for the next one.
  9. Hi lads Just wondering how much everyone's servicing costs are coming in at, as my we lady is up for service next week. Just so I know no-one is trying to put the arm in! Thanks in advance, Sean.
  10. Do myself and ianwilly have to get on our knees and beg for a few photos????
  11. Hi Calling all black vrs II owners!! Was wondering has anyone out there got any photos of a black vrs II or seen one with the black rally mudflpaz from performance creations. I live on the road of a quarry :thumbdwn: and i really need something to help stop my beautiful vrs getting dirty so quickly:( . Surely someone with a black vrs has them and will take pity on my plight and get off their a$$ and take a photo for me:confused:. Oh sorry, did i forget to say please . Thanks in advance!! Sean.
  12. Averaging around 28-30 on mine, mostly b roads with hills and corners galore, a lot of gear changing and accelerating, braking, etc. I was also told once that the size of the wheel can make a difference too. Correct me if im wrong lads, but would a 17 inch wheel get 3-4 mpg more than an 18 inch?
