  1. Yes me! I keep the wipers clean but I got a scratch after about a month, then I noticed 2 more appeared in the last couple of weeks. I have no idea what’s going on - I’ve never had this happen on any previous car. Have you managed to soften the appearance with anything?
  2. I’ve also never noticed any faint noises in mine, but I’ll keep an ear out. It could just be an electrical initiation like when you turn the ignition on and the car gets ready to start. Is it that kind of noise?
  3. Similar setup here, an old tin does the job admirably!
  4. Thanks @StewartM - I think I’ve done that by accident and wondered why I could re open the door afterwards!
  5. Sadly no RS3, but an over active imagination! I’ve tested a few things and I’m going to go with a hinged biscuit tin! Works perfectly and satisfies my innate laziness.
  6. Having heard some scare stories about theft of KESSY equipped vehicles I have invested in some shielding bags for when not in use. These are a bit of a faff though, remembering to put them in there and digging them out as required. Does anyone have any clever tips or ideas for shielding the signal in a slightly simpler way?
  7. Thanks for helping, it’s useful to have this community for things like this, especially if you don’t always find manuals that easy to follow. Personal experience will always be better than words on a page for me.
  8. Thanks for answering, but it’s not worth getting yourself worked up over it. Just don’t answer next time.
  9. Just the space saver and 4th yr warranty as it was dealer stock, but the scout has pretty much everything I wanted bar the colour maxi dot, but after a day of driving it I am already over it!
  10. Does anyone know how to zoom in on the buttonless Columbus system without losing the focus on the moving vehicle? On my Octavia you would just turn the right hand dial and it would zoom in on your position and follow you at that zoom level. On the kodiaq it seems to zoom using the pinch gesture, but that stays in one place on the map.
  11. Picked up this beauty this morning . Scout 2.0 tdi 150 7 seat. Currently enjoying how clean and nice it is before my kids trash it.
  12. Again, excellent to know! Thanks - hopefully picking up Sept 1st so a bit of time to wrangle.
  13. Well every day is a school day! I wish I’d known that before I put down my £500!
  14. When you take a PCP you are actually borrowing the FULL balance not the balance less the GMFV. Interest is charged on that full amount, but you only pay it for the duration of the PCP. That’s why you need to look at the total amount repayable. So in summary to get to that, you’ll have: list price - say £30000 Less your deposit - £5000 Less dealer deposit - £5000 total balance for finance £20000 GMFV - £10000 You pay the difference between balance and GMFV (£10000) plus the interest accrued on the WHOLE £20000 finance split over the 4 year PCP. I hope ive got that right! Its a minefield and each dealer has a different way of illustrating it, which suits their way of selling! Just scrutinise your quote before you sign anything and make sure you shop around. It sounds to me that you’ll likely get a better deal on a new one once dealer discount has been taken into account.
  15. If you’re in the market for a vehicle soon, speak to Rich Milner at Capitol ŠKODA in Newport. He’s a good guy and works really hard to get a result for you. When I bought mine he said they had a few more stock vehicles coming in shortly. Worth a call anyway!
  16. The edition makes it slightly better, but still doesn’t strike me as a great deal. Is it from Blade? Im pretty sure that the GMFV is fixed at the level of depreciation they expect over the time frame. I don’t think it’s negotiable. The PCP on my Octavia that is now coming to the end had an optimistic gmfv which meant that at trade in time the value was lower that the gmfv and I was in negative equity, meaning that I only had the option to hand the car back. There was nothing left for any deposit on the next one. Apparently it’s a common issue on Ocatvias bought in 2015!
  17. What model is it? SE L? EDITION? Either way - I would say that’s a pretty poor deal. The GMFV (balloon payment) looks about right and having been on the wrong end of an overly optimistic one recently, that’s not a scenario you want. That said, 7.3% is a rubbish APR, 4.9% is current for brand new vehicles. Even that’s not great! You can probably do the same pcp withdrawal trick as many on here have done and replace with a personal loan at .2.8%. Also you want them to be putting some deposit in - at least £2k. All the way around this looks like a bad deal. Go back and tell them to sharpen their pencil! As a reference I have just bought a brand new scout with £3k deposit 11k miles per year - the monthly’s were £330 - balloon payment about £14500.
  18. I just bought the nextbase 412GW for £93 and after a couple of weeks use I have to say that I am pretty impressed with it. I don’t have much frame of reference as I’ve never had one before, but the app is sensible and easy enough to use, and it has all the features I would need for a fwd facing camera. The resolution is really good and it’s a pretty wide angle lens, so I would be pretty happy to recommend.
  19. It’s worse because our current Octavia has it so I know what I’ll be missing... still if that’s the worst thing about the car then I am doing OK!
  20. I agree - it looks crap in comparison with the maxidot and I’m surprised it’s not std on a scout!
  21. Se tech is only available on lease vehicles I believe
  22. If I’m honest I still don’t really understand this. If it is being sold under this derogation rule, how would that affect me? I am not planning on keeping past 4 years as it’s on a PCP. I guess it puts me in no worse a situation than anyone who has one already? Or is it an issue that it’ll be a 68 and not graded by WLTP?
