  1. Hi, our drivers side bearing is making quite a racket and needs replacing. As I understand the bearing comes as part of a whole hub assembly. But when I input my reg number into gsf or eurocar parts I get 2 options. A 3 bolt and 4 bolt version. The Yeti is a 61 plate 1.2tsi, does anyone know what is likely to be fitted? Also can anyone explain the huge price differences from £35 at some admittedly shady looking websites to £150 at gsf etc?! Even for the same branded hub assembly! Thanks, Alex
  2. I need to double check it's not the tyre wobbling on the wheel, no hub caps With regards to insurance I have owned massively modified cars in my youth and have always insured them correctly with everything declared. I have no issues doing the same with the yeti. The crux of the question for me is will another 7mm towards the arch of the car foul anything?
  3. Ok great ta, makes sense to me. I have no issue with using different spec wheels mechanically but it's a fair point about invalidating the insurance.
  4. That's a strange one though isn't it. Does that mean only the wheels offered from factory specified for the yeti are insurable without declaring? Or any skoda (possibly vag) wheels with the correct spec? ET45 17x7 Genuinely interested but not particularly worried
  5. Thanks, but I've scoured that thread and best I can find is someone running 7.5 et35. I think I'll risk it. These arches are huge!
  6. Hi, One of the wheels on our yeti is strangely buckled, not dented or egg shaped. It wobbles side to side, not too badly and cannot be felt in the car. I'd like to chuck some cheap alloys on the car and have found some from a superb. The current wheel specs are Dolomite Alloy 7Jx17 ET45 - 5L0 601 025 B 7ZS And the ones from the superb are 7J x 17 ET37 That's 8mm further out per corner. Is anyone else running lower offset wheels without any issues, I really doubt I'll get the tyre rubbing the arch! Alternatively is anyone running 10mm spacers as that's essentially the same situation. Thanks in advance.
  7. Thanks so much, I'm really glad to read some of this. Sounds way too much hassle! CarPlay looks a little shaky at the moment too so shan't bother. I bought a pioneer CarPlay headunit on eBay and was going to fit to our old clubman but played with it in halfords and wasn't impressed to be honest. I'm going to take a look at some of the android headunits and see if anyone locally has one I can play with. Thanks again.
  8. Hi, Hoping someone can put me off trying this! I've got a 2012 skoda yeti with a factory fit rns315 (admusen +) headunit. I've seen - MIB STD2 PQ+NAV headunits going quite cheap from yetis. As I understand the Rns system and the Mib system are quite different. Has anyone looked into doing this swap? Would be looking to keep everything working as it currently is (controls, park sensors, climate displays etc) I'm pretty sure it will need coding to the car and then upgrading it to CarPlay. Looking at the yeti MIB it seems that it's been made for the yeti to fit into the same space but I could be wrong. Other MIB headunits have a separate control box but I'm hoping this one doesn't. If anyone can answer any of this I'd be massively great full. I'm probably not going to buy this particular one so here's a link to it on eBay if anyone's braver than me. https://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/351769817064 Cheers.
