  1. My 06 vrs suffered with a terrible stutter, so after advice from another owner who had the same problem I switched fuel and now only run it on BP Ultimate Diesel. The dealer fix did not do much but when combined with the new diesel it has now almost gone. Worth the extra cash per tank(about
  2. I nailed mine for new right upto the limiter and if it blows up then send it back to the dealer for repair for free, I have in the past owned a plethora of sports bikes and when I "ran them in properly" as per the manual I found them to be slower than if they were caned from the off. That aside, dont drill it from cold always warm it up, then smash the throttle through the floor and check out your grin factor!!
  3. You hit the nail on the head there, horses for courses- spot on! As for your comments with the build I was given a roomster 1 1.4 when the octy was in for some more repair work(there were many) and I also noted that the internal trim was made of very flimsy plastic , on the one I bought it would appear Skoda have noticed this and increased the guage of the plastic as they are signiicantly stronger or maybe this is the standard on the roomster 2?? The styling does take a while to get over (my work colleagues have given me loads of abuse about wheelchair access and chair lifts etc) but that aside so far it's tip top.
  4. I was considering a scout but the price put me off so I opted for a roomster 2 with the gucci roof, what is the interior like on the scout??
  5. Mine also claimed that I had got a rouge and like you I was totally sick of it, a good friend has a mk1 octavia which has given fautless service and when we compared the two a definate down turn in quality could be seen.
  6. The day after I purchased the octavia the oil cooler fell off this was an indication of what was to come, this was followed by many trips to the dealer over a 24 month period. The build quality of the roomster in far superior to the octavia in my humble opinion, all of the internal fittings appear to be of a higher standard. The seats in the octavia seemed to resemble a pair of old tights stuffed with sponge (mine was a classic higher models have better seating material) and they were very narrow and uncomfortable after long periods but this is quite the opposite in the roomster. I honestly feel that the octy was designed as a family car/executive mile cruncher and it failed to deliver on both but the roomster is a 100% family vehicle and so far it appears to be a 100% better vehicle SO FAR.
  7. I picked up my 1.9 Tdi roomster 2 on Saturday and it's tip top mate, can find anything to fault yet!
  8. What a fantastic day it was on Saturday, the sun was shining, the skies were blue, the kids sat in the back seat were not fighting( there usual occupation) and I got rid of the Mk2 Octavia which has been a monkey on my back since it's arrival. The new roomster 2 appears to be everything I wanted the octy to be, but without bits falling off ( every couple of weeks). Tails
  9. If anyone who reads this has seen any of my other posts you will know that I am not a happy bunny! Currently I own an 05 Octavia 1.9 Tdi Classic Estate and a Fabia Vrs and it would be fair to say that the octavia/lemon as I like to call it has had more than it's fair share of faults. My most recent purchase of a 56 plate Fabia Vrs comes complete with an interesting PHENOMENON (as Skoda like to call it, but I call it a fault) which means it has a throttle stutter at 1.7k rpm, which makes the "performance" Fabia a horrible drive around town. Does anyone else think that skoda have dropped the ball on quality???
  10. I am 100% behind you on this one my friend, I have had the mod to remedy this PHENOMENON on my fabia and it HAS NOT WORKED!!!! Skoda need to pull there thumb out of there backside and get this sorted, anyone who owns a Fabia with this problem needs to start whipping up the hornets nest and get onto Skoda via email etc as I think I can say that no one who purchased this vehicle with this problem is happy. I for one have started the ball rolling and I am currently in the process of contacting as many motoring magazines as possible to see if they are interested in running a story on this PHENOMENON. Maybe the new Fabia vrs when it goes on sale will come with another PHENOMENON??? But maybe this PHENOMENON will be that it works correctly!
  11. I have had my new 56 fabia vrs into the dealer to have this stutter sorted with the drilling out of the exhaust gasket and it made no difference whatsoever, i managed to get a glimse of the dealers labtop with the fault remedy and it says that the stutter/hesitation occurs at 17k rpm and they are now calling it a driving characteristic rather than a fault, which is starting to sound like we will have to lump it.
  12. Yes I did buy it from new which is why im so fed up with it, as if it was 4 or 5 years old I would have expected some of these problems. However after a phone call to the Skoda "help line" on friday I wont hold my breath as I spoke with a man who clearly didn't seem to give a t#ss and said they would get back to me in due course. A point to note here Ladies and Gents who may be reading this, my car is quite clearly a lemon and if it wasn't for the good will of my dealer I would be up a certain creek in a special sort of canoe so with my woes in mind put a great deal of thought in to dealer choice. The "help line" don't appear to care less and cannot see why I am losing my rag with the constant journeys back and forth to the dealer. I have tried to explane that the arrangement with my employer is that I get paid for attending my work place not a Skoda dealer.
  13. Update-update Driving down the motorway this morning and the windscreen washers both packed up Hopefully some charva will rob it off my drive or torch it for me this weekend. I HAVE HAD ENOUGH OF THIS ####### CAR and I am going to get onto skoda uk and see what they have to say about it. I am currently in the middle of purchasing my wife a new Fabia VRS and unless I get a proper response the sale will be cancelled.
  14. I have just placed an order for a new Fabia VRS for my wife, upgrading from her current fabia. But a problem has come to light, I could not afford the
  15. My 05 Octavia 1.9TDI seems to be plagued with problems and I am starting to regret buying it. I would like to know if anyone else has suffered from so many problems or have Skoda supplied me with a "monday morning/friday afternoon special" 1 Oil cooler fell of drivers footwell after 10 hours form new. 2 Problems engaging 3rd gear. 3 Both front windows "screech" when operated. 4 Passenger side front speaker split. 5 Hissing sound when above 50mph from rear passenger window. 6 Turbo bearings playing up requiring replacement Turbo. 7 Drivers door internal handle sheared off. 8 Front electric mirrors operating with no input from driver. All of the problems have now been sorted by Faintree Garage, but my patience is starting to wear thin.
