  1. Brilliant system. Would not get a car without it now.
  2. Hi Aidan. I made a similar move last July. Moved from a 150BHP Superb to a 150BHP Kodiaq with DSG box. I did test a 190 but could not justify the extra €5000 between the 150 and the 190. The 150 with DSG is FWD versus AWD with the 190 but I wasn't feeling €5000 extra performance and don't need AWD. Its obviously not as quick as the Superb as it's a much bigger car but I don't mind as you drive it differently. It's a brilliant comfy mile munched. I've had 6 on board with a roof box and didn't find it struggling. My commute is 30km each way and I'm averaging 40mpg and up to 45 on longer journeys. I've never really found the DSG a problem pulling out of junctions but I do normally disable the start/stop as soon as I get in. Initially wanted the sportline but went for a style model with some extras such as heated screen and ACC, towbar etc.
  3. Sorry. This is the only other pic I have to hand and too dark/weather to crap to take any more.
  4. Funny that. I went with your original choice with the black Triglav alloys. Personally I love the colour but it a real marmite choice. Some love it, some hate. Its the time in 30 years of motoring though that complete strangers have remarked on how they like the colour. I have owned various greys, black, silver, red and blue. Bottom line, pick whatever colour you prefer.
  5. Re: Mirror dipping. Not sure how it works in the Kodiaq as mine does not have it but in my Suberb which did the mirror switch had to be pointing to the left mirror position or it would not dip when reversing. So if pointing to heater, or right mirror no dipping.
  6. My dealer supplied mud flaps, skoda interior rubber mats, reversible boot liner and a skoda gift box with key rins, travel mug, pen etc.
  7. Dealer supplied front and rear rubber mats + reversible boot mat. Bought the 3rd row textile mats and rubber tunnel cover from Skodapartsireland. €39 delivered.
  8. One week old today. 2.0 TDi Style in Steel Grey with some extras including black Triglav alloys, ACC, Heated Windscreen, TSR and Towbar. Dealer made a booboo with the High Beam Assist so threw in the service plan for 3 years as compensation. Almost 600Km on it so far and getting 46mpg average. Will need to go back to dealer and have front passenger speaker replaced as it vibrates badly. Had the same problem with my Superb after 2 years. This was the only fault I had in 3 years ownership though so hoping the Kodiaq is just as reliable. Love the car otherwise.
  9. Ordered in April and arrived at the dealers this week. Have to wait until 1 July to collect it as it will be a 192 registration. Going to be a looooooong few weeks.
  10. Ordered in April and just heard today it's in Dublin port. Should be at the Dealers next week. 2.0 TDi Style with some extras.
  11. More annoyed that you would have to go for top Style or SEL trim if you want decent lights. Seems only these have the LED headlights. Old school halogen in lower trims with no option to upgrade on any configuration I have seen. Even a choice to spec Bi Xenon would be nice.
  12. Hi MrB1 I bought a 150BHP Style last August. Also debated over the 190 but after getting to drive both could not justify the extra €1400 for an extra 40BHP as it did not feel a huge difference on the open road. With the 150 you lose 0.8 seconds in the 0 - 100km/h time but I find it has more than enough poke when overtaking which is more important for me as overtaking opportunities are limited on the roads in Mayo You should be able to find a 190 to test drive. I seen one on Monaghans, Galway and also a dealer in Limerick. I would not make a decision until you can compare both for yourself. As regards the alloys, my dealer (Monaghans in Castlebar) had no problem swapping the standard 17" alloys fitted to the Irish spec Style with a pair of 18" Modus that were fitted on an ex demo in the showroom. I did have to pay extra for them but didn't mind as this would also be the case if ordering from the factory.
  13. Getting the quartz grey and upgraded to the modus 18" alloys. Was told it will be ready at 2.30 so watching the clock like a little child.
  14. Good decision Benny. You need an extended drive to see if the DSG makes sense. I'm actually picking up a new 150 BHP Style Hatch in manual from Monaghans Skoda Castlebar this afternoon. Went with manual for a couple of reasons. I drove my sisters DSG equipped 2.0 Yeti on my work commute a few times even though it was smooth, slick, convenient etc I found myself having to override manually a number if time as I was caught in the wrong gear. My route is a 22 mile trip on twisty single lane carriageway and limited overtaking opportunities. I would catch the DSG napping on occasion when attempting an overtake or coming into a bend so would have to change manually. The other reason I went for the manual gearbox wast basically price. I simply could not justify paying an extra €3000 euro for DSG. It was either buy the Ambition spec with DSG or the Style spec with a manual. If your looking at the 1.6 TDI the DSG is a €2000 option. Our UK cousins pay £1400 extra for DSG which is a more reasonable price. Now if I was living and commuting in Dublin with constant stop/start driving and maybe some motorway miles then I probably would have gone for DSG for the convenience it would bring.
