  1. Love this thread David! You will know how much i love the Trophy cars, and nearly bought A13FAV off what we have discussed on Facebook! Looking forward to seeing what else you get done! Cheers Steve
  2. Regrettably for sale is my 2010 (60 Plate) Fabia VRS TSI DSG, with approx. 79k miles and MOT till mid Feb 2018 In Rallye Green with optional Black roof, and Black Gigaro wheels. I've owned it for approx. 18 months, and its been a great car. This has a CAVE engine, but ISNT an oil user. Its recently had a new water pump (due to failure of old unit) and full service at the same time, using Millers Nanodrive oil, and NGK plugs. It has a few optional extras fitted from factory, including heated seats and reverse sensors, also comes with two keys. The previous owner fitted a Custom back box, but its not a lary, loud thing, looks subtle and has a nice tone to it. I've had Powerflex bushes fitted to the front, and its sat on H&R 40mm Springs. I've also had a pair of Uniroyal's on the front in the past two months. It has a few age related marks on the exterior, and is a Cat D (known to myself before I bought it, but all it had was NSF Wing, and headlight) hence the lower asking price. Its a great car and id love to keep it as a second car, but not suited towards what my plans are for the future. Plenty of photos available on request. Private plate is not been sold with the car. Offers around £3850 Thanks
  3. Nothing obvious that I can see on the old pump but I’ll admit I haven’t had a good look so il do that tomorrow and see if I can find anything. As for how he did it.....no ramp and took 4hrs from opening the bonnet to closing it.
  4. Got it sorted. Got all the genuine bits via a friend who works at TPS, and another tech friend has fitted them. All in all, £325 fitted including the cost of the parts. Sounds sweet as a nut now. Still considering selling it mind....
  5. Nice! Well in theory mines getting done next weekend so I’ll just have to take it steady and put up with the noise for now. I was going to sell the car soon but I just can’t bring myself to.... Im hoping this cures it and I can get some more enjoyment out of it
  6. Would it be a coincidence that the heater has not been that good of late in the car too? It gets hot enough but doesn’t feel to stay as warm when you move it off the full heat mark.. I did the sprint at Cadwell a couple of weekends ago and the coolant level started put at max before during and after, it’s only probably this week that ive noticed the drop and yesterday the noise
  7. Yeah I’m going to have to use it at the moment to get to work and dialysis so I’ll just try not to boot it Risky I know but I have no other option at the minute
  8. I did wonder if it would play or not. Just very rattly at the back left basically. Coolant has dropped about 3mm from the max line as it’s always been at the max line since I’ve owned the car
  9. Yeah sure. He is a Ford master tech which I know means jack all with vag but he is thorough etc Good to know about the chains on CAVE I guess. This has next to no other symptoms apart from the sudden noise and the coolant has dropped about 2-4mm over about a month.
  10. Yeah I thought that last night when I had a look. Well it’s my mechanic mate who’s going to do it, so I’ll try give him a hand the best I can. Do do we think this sounds like a water pump? I initially thought chain but I have no other of the usual symptoms of a stretched chain... CAVE on 78k, 2010 just for info...non oil user 1BAEF9A4-A66E-4A06-A9F5-52DE1D55D86E.MOV
  11. I am assuming that no special tools are needed to do the water pump?
  12. I think mine has gone. Coolant is is down by around 3-4mm and it makes this noise at the back of the engine... Oil level is fine but I’m just a bit dubious if it’s timing chain or not..? Anyone know if this sounds like a water pump over chain? 736CE4A9-EC73-4204-A2F0-211FB10DD17C.MOV
  13. Nice! I used to to have a Cannondale team trails frame Not really into trails so sold it...
  14. I have been into mountain biking for as long as I remember and I have a thing for 90s stuff. Ive recently bought a winter project, just for something to do whilst it’s the close season for Motorsport. The Kona Sex One. Cant wait to get this built up!
  15. Some more pics from the day. Poor quality as I’ve taken a picture of the laptop screen..!
  16. Morning folks. So my 60 plate VRS is coming up to 80k soon, and I’ve noticed over the past few thousand or so miles that a judder in second is more obvious. I know a normal manual gearbox can start to need a clutch replacement sometimes through general wear and tear and it’s age, so I’m wondering if that what mine could be. I do have the front end all powerflex bushed so I get that it might accentuate the vibration more. My car apparently doesn’t need any gearbox mod/recall etc on the Skoda website, so am I looking at this to be done? Is there any updated stuff out there for this DSG box, seem as I’ll be doing some more Sprints and Trackdays next year. Cheers
  17. Some of you are aware I competed in my first Sprint last weekend at Cadwell Park. Had a great day, and I didn't come last, which was a bonus! It was very wet all day so that didn't lend to much but one thing was clear to me, I wasn't keen on the Fabia as a track car....! Anyway, here is one of the official pictures, and one of mine. Cheers
  18. Sweeeeeet. I need to come out with you in this next time your at Blyton/Cadwell!
  19. Great progress mate! Love the look of your car...black really suits them
  20. Thanks for the reply George. I'm competing in a sprint this Sunday @ Cadwell Park so we shall see what it goes like! ill try the handbrake tonight on a few practice starts! I really could do with the XDS changing anyway, so ill see what happens Sunday as it is...
  21. Mine has been sorted too from lubing up the seat mechanism, it was doing my head in!
  22. I had this. Bit of heat shrink and soldering and back to been like new.
