Better safe than sorry . Background to this solution....... Tried the warranty route via all-in-one plan . Initially rejected as was a 'trim " issue . I replied that this is a 'functional ' item and skoda direct said to put claim via dealer and they would treat it as a warranty issue. Surprise ,surprise Skoda refused the claim ! Hence the simple DIY FIX . So don;t waste any time with a claim

Many comments on this weakness and a few solutions which require removal of inner door card (panel) The problem can be rectified in 15 mins avoiding panel removable . A Trim removal kit on amazon / ebay cost approx £3 and enables the easy removal of the face trim of the upright part of the handle. clearly showmg the faulty part. On either side of this are two holes in the oval metal plate of the panel. These holes can be enlarged with a 6mm diameter drill. Insert two cavity ribber fittings ( called Rubber Well Nuts/Fairing fixing screws ........on Ebay ) A bit of fairy liquid helps when inserting these . These fixings hava a brass insert .............when connected with a 40mm long x M4 screw will when tightened , pull the handle back into place as the brass insert deforms the rubber behind the plate. If you want a belt and braces job you could add some epoxy resin adhesive in the center broken fitting !! Finally replace the trim makimg sure you tuck under the tail end before snapping into place. For under £10 you have saved over £400 plus labour at the dealers. tel 07951 789558 for help

Thank you ,i have been regularly searching Auto Trader and others and have seen what is available. Having had my kodiaq addition from new in Sept 67 and knowing the benefit of the 150 hp diesel , i don't want anything more powerful . i will just have to be patient and hope something will appear.
