  1. I'm having the same problem, now that the air temps are starting to get lower. It takes longer to warm up to 90ºC and if I coast on the motorway, water temp starts to get lower to 70/80ºC. My car is not a DSG, it' s a manual, so no extra thermostat!
  2. I've just pick the Superb from the dealer. It's a 100km drive, mainly highways, and all seems fine! It drives more or less the same way it did before.. They put a stamp on the service book as this car has had the EA189 recall.
  3. Didn't get anything in writing, but let's hope for the best... I believe here in Portugal NoX emissions are not tested yet. There are lots of people with FAPs removed and they dont have any troubles at the anual inspection! After a day driving the 1.6, I got used to it. You just have to drive it in a different way! Problem is fuel consumption is a little higher than with the 2.0! Here in Portugal. in 10 Superbs, 9 are 1.6 and only 1 is 2.0! So it shouldnt be as bad as my statement could led to believe!
  4. I left the Superb at the dealer this morning for the 210.000kms service but asked not to change the software. They said they couldn't do it. All cars MUST be fixed if they go to a Skoda dealer, otherwise they'll get severe penalties by the manufacturer for not doing the fix. Plus they said that all owners are being called to do the fix within a certain period of time. If they miss the fix, Skoda importer will send the information to the national vehicle registration (IMT here in Portugal), and their cars will not pass the anual inspection (same as MOT in UK or TUV in Germany) and will get the registration cancelled. The guy also told me that the problem was NOX and not CO2 emissions, so the performance and consumption will not be affected. He mentioned that they have to lower the exhaust gas temperature slightly to be within the tolerances of NOX emissions, so I shouldn't feel any difference. So, I agreed with the fix, got my fingers crossed and left in a 2016 Skoda Octavia Break 1.6TDI. This car is a courtesy car for the software fix, they said... By the way, what a shock coming from a Superb 2.0 170hp engine to the 1.6!! It amazes me how can anybody put up with this engine in a Superb! It's not the lack of power that is the problem but the lack of smoothness, the hole in torque below 2000rpm and the way it depends on boost to make any real progress!! I should pick the car tomorow so I'll have some opinion then...
  5. Hi! I drive a Superb with a CFGB engine (2.0TDi CR 170hp) with a little over 200.000kms. It's going to get serviced next week and I saw in the quote they sent me, that it is going to have the sofware fixed. I ask them if I should be worried and they said they've been doing that to other 170hp engines without any compliaints... Should I be worried..?
