So I did my drop links today. No probs on the offside, but then I discovered this on the n/s. What sort of bellend fits it upside down? They'd stripped the nut and stud and as the short end was uppermost, it didn't even engage with the nylon portion of the nut. Could have been worse if it was on the o/s I suppose cos of the boost pipe. Much quieter on the front end now

Cheers mate. Having done some more research I've been told the cast are for earlier cars while the double ball joint are later. Not sure how true this is?

I ordered front drop links and received short cast items rather than the long rod type. Am I missing something as many vendors list these type for my car?

Ok, so is there any real, measurable difference between premium oils? Is there any hard evidence for which oil is better for the 1.8 turbo? Doing an oil and filter on mine soon so interested to hear of any empirical evidence rather than hearsay.

Hi folks. I'm just outside Newport. Just bought my Octavia Vrs and always interested in meeting like minded people.

Hi all. Just a quicky to introduce meself. Just purchased my first Skoda which is also my first turbo car. I'm a massive petrol head and will be looking to learn everything I can in as short as time as possible so please bear with me ????. My new toy, which is my daily beater, is an 02 Octavia Vrs with a Milltek cat back, CR turbos upgraded turbo, Forge induction and Forge recirculating dump valve, and a stage 1 remap by Performance Torque. It needs a few jobs doing and it's a bit scruffy but it was bloody cheap so I thought I'd take a punt on it.
