Audi A3 mf steering wheel parts interchangeable with Octavia?
I have access to a 10 plate A3 that is being dismantled. It's like to upgrade my 12 plate Octy VRS to a multi function steering wheel, and while I can find plenty of mf wheels for sale no one seems inclined to remove the clock spring wiring etc that i need for the upgrade and breakers years where I am are few and far between with no Octavia 2 donors available. Does anyone know if the Audi parts work with the Skoda mf wheel? Any input appreciated.

One Touch Window Glitch
One touch windows wont work on my 12 plate vrs estate. Ive tried every method on YouTube to no avail. I'm wondering if the chineseium feeling switches could be the problem as I'm sure they are not original an original VAG part. Any suggestion from the knowledge base would be appreciated. I'm feeling a little disillusioned at the moment as looking at vcds tweaks on YouTube, with options that are not present on my car makes me wonder if its a trim level thing or if the UK market got a stripped down version, like the cold bulb check. It just isn't there on my car.

ESURE - instant helpful response to an accident
Yours was not the response I took issue with š. I know visual impairment makes life difficult, a friends son has ācone myopathyā and I hate the deterioration I can see in one so young. Nature can be so cruel š¢

ESURE - instant helpful response to an accident
Not wishing to hijack someone elseās thread however I felt the tone of the reply to me demanded a response from myself. Letās dispel a few misconceptions here as at least one respondent ādoesnāt seem to understand how insurance worksā My FIRST call WAS to eSure - my insurer - who noted the call as my notifying them of the incident. I am fully cognisant of the requirement to notify and this was done. It was in fact Esure who laid out my options of either 1. Claiming on my own policy OR 2. Going direct to Co-Op, in fact I had no idea who the other party was insured with at this point as she had no insurance details on her and was becoming quite hysterical about her hitting my car (so having her personal details I told her it could be dealt with later, As i was becoming concerned at her increasing distress.) This second option seemed a little ādifferentā to me, having been driving for more years than I care to remember, but I assumed it was could be because the collision took place on a shopping centre car park - essentially on private property. They informed me that I would have to pay my excess then the whole could be recovered post repair from the other insurance company. THEY checked (I assume) MID and from that gave me the contact details for co op insurance, as being the insurer of the other party. When I called co op they were not at all fazed by the call and it seemed a normal straightforward thing, they told me they would contact their insured and get back to me - from that I assume that by the evening she had still not informed her insurers. I hoped that going direct direct would simplify matters, repair would be promptly and adequately completed and that would end the matter. Clearly that was a mistake as I am now involved in a dispute with the assessors over the damage to the bonnet and IRG (the repairers) about a badly fitting bumper and poor paint finish. Another lesson from this is not to allow assessment by providing photos, get the assessor out to see the car. Donāt take any āwe are trying to minimise contact due to covidā line from them. I do have ālike for likeā courtesy cover, but to be honest the bigger issue for me was them having my car for a whole week and yet doing so little work. I also didnāt expect my car to have to be trucked across 2 counties for quite minor repairs. So in conclusion, I took a route given as an option by MY insurer, clearly you were not party to the conversation and are Ill equipped to comment on the options I was offered. Given the financial uncertainty at the moment I chose not to pay the excess (which they told me I would initially have to do) and then wait to get it back at some unspecified point in the future.

ESURE - instant helpful response to an accident
Iām with esure and wish I had gone thru them rather than going direct to the other drivers insurers (co op) in the expectation that it would simplify matters. So instead of ālike for likeācourtesy car I ended up for a week in a 3 cyl Hyundai i10 while they trucked my Octy vrs 60 odd miles away to Swansea ... did half a job and dropped it back only after I pointed out that they were having a laugh if they though I was schlepping 2 hours on a train to Swansea to collect it, (yes it is that slow as the line follows the coast). Now Iām fighting them for a new bonnet to replace the twisted one I am left with (with a small outward kink) paint scratches from bumper rigging back over the wing that havenāt been repaired, and for them to fit the new front numberplate they billed for but didnāt fit. Oh and the refitted original front bumper isnāt a good fit there is a widening panel gap at the point where it meets the wing and has bad paint where there was paintloss in the numberplate recess. I donāt want iRG anywhere near my car again... very disappointing repair

Octavia 2 VRS Limited Edition Register
Damn... I nearly had one a couple of years back (ā17).. ā59 plate TDI with WN prefix if that helps anyone pin it down. It looked good in the pics on eBay... seller gave all the right answers, won the auction... travelled to Reading on a single train ticket and discovered..... it was a dog.. airbag light on (impact sensor according to pocket code reader,) odd alloy (hidden in the pics) badly repaired accident damage on rear wing... bulb fail warning light on but most worryingly low coolant light... which returned within 5 miles of being topped up. š³ I rejected the car (with a heavy heart) got my deposit back and watched it sell again on eBay. I checked it online a few days ago (have a memory for reg numbers) Looks like it got scrapped - tax and mot both expired late last year. Would have been circa 200k miles. So disappointed I didnāt get the series number off of the seat tags. Interior was nice. Would prefer that to the normal vrs one I have now, and I did love that dark grey colour so much nicer than the silver I have now.

Bonnet to bumper shut line
This may seem a strange question but can anyone verify for me that the shut line gap between the bottom of the grille and front bumper should be even right across ? I have an an issue with insurers after an accident repair where the bonnet acquired a small crease in the curved surface near the top of the grille and the grille/bonnet shut line narrows at the centre suggesting to me that the bonnet is in fact distorted and should be replaced by the other drivers insurance (she reversed into me at quite hard - elderly driver šš«) In effect they took 5 days to paint a bumper and make up (but forget to fit) a new front number plate. Next time I go though my own insurers... even with having to lay out the excess then reclaim it.

Aircon sensor wiring
I have a feeling that Iām going to get very familiar with the wiring on this car, Iāve already made a temporary fix to the drivers door airbag sensor issue and VCDS has also thrown up an intermittent fault with door lighting. Disappointing that they cheaped out on wiring this way. Looks like Iāll have to dig the control unit out so I can get at the plug š« itās gonna be a week or so.. Iāll report back when I do get to it. Thanx

Aircon sensor wiring
2012 Vrs tdi, VCDS has picked up a non functioning nearside temperature sensor in the aircon setup, the indications are there is no Positive feed to the sensor. That explains the lack of cooling that Iāve noticed. Can anyone clue me in on what colour cable is the positive, and can I just substitute a feed from a new source? Iād like to get the aircon sorted before it gets hot again... š Thanx.
