Who or what is the biggest threat to SKODA?
tinkytinca replied to ColinD's topic in About to buy a SKODA?
Couldn't agree more. DM Keith, who seem to have Yorkshire and Humber sown up, are appalling . Arnold Clark (Inverness) were just as bad. So I would say that in Skoda UK contempt for the customer/consumer is endemic. I wouldn't recommend Skoda to my worst enemy (and I have quite a lot to choose from). -
A slight deviation. Where is (and position#) of the washer fuse. Mine has blown so it looks as if this is a common fault on the MKIII as well

I had problems with overheating on my summer holiday in Scotland. Two dealers (Inverness & Perth) were as much help as a Chocolate fireguard. Back in Leeds I took it to Dealer who had the car for a day and gave me some bullshyte about having replaced the waterpump. Overheated on the way home! Opened bonnet and noticed that the managed to change the waterpump without undoing the bolts (VAG are not very good at conning customers are they). Got them to come and get it and do the job properly. They told me that the 'cure' according to VAG was just to replace the coolant. Anyways, they phoned me yesterday to try and sell me a new car. They were surprised when I told the I would be buying a new car in the next couple of months and it will be a HONDA! Never in over 40 years of driving will I be happier to get rid of a car (apart from a Marina 1.8TC which I wrapped round a Lamp post on the A326) This car was my first encounter with Skoda and sure to be my last my customer satisfaction rating 2/10

Someone beat me to it! I had overheating problems. Skoda were as helpful as a chocolate fireguard until I told them I was going down the legal route. This attitude has led me to decide the Skoda has to go! The biggest threat to Skoda is Skoda! -
My crash collision braking was activated by an aluminium can being blown across the road.

Where do you keep your first aid kit?
tinkytinca replied to yankarinRG's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk III (2014-2021)
I have mine in my "goto" rucksack in the boot. The rucksack contains all sorts of "goodies" such as spare lamps, dayglo vest, fire extinguisher, very sharp knife ..... -
Well that means very soon Skoda UK will be emailing me offering me to order a new Yeti - sight unseen, spec unknown, price unknown

Twitchy ride - would 15" improve it
tinkytinca replied to stonyb1's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk III (2014-2021)
I mentioned in another post that I think the handling of the Mk3 is, in my opinion, absolutely terrible not inspiring confidence at any speed on anything but a smooth straight road. I don't believe that any tyre and wheel combination will make any improvement to an inherently bad chassis / suspension setup. Any improvements would be very costly. If you want a nice handling car trade the Fabia in for a Fiesta. -

Thank goodness for 'Photoshop' or else we wouldn't have any idea what it looked like! It looks like a Kia Sportage. -

I must admit that if it wasn't for the DSG I would not have chosen the Skoda. The dealer was carp but they had the model I wanted. Skodas choice of tyres for instance, is appalling and as for the handling, the least said the better (I'm not a youngster and this is going to be my last car). The equipment levels are terrible, with cost cutting. Would I buy Skoda again? As my grandson would say, "No way Hoe Say" showing in all areas. -
Well yes and no! The horn is used to warn others of your presence (just like the flashing of headlights}.I travel on single track country roads with plenty of "blind" corners/bends in which case my horn gets plenty of use. i'm looking for a replacement that actually sounds like a horn (a Deltic train horn is too big to fit under bonnet)

TDI owners: what's your average range like?
tinkytinca replied to Octy09's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk III (2014-2021)
1.4TDi SEL 90PS DSG My latest fuel consumption (from Fuelly) is 63.7mpg mixed town & motorway driving. Maxi Dot indicating 65.8 I'm happy with that, I've no idea what VAG claimed consumption is. -
