  1. Apologies for very late reply but it maybe useful for anyone else that looks in future. Yes we ended up getting the body control unit replaced for around £400 at out local Skoda dealer, *touch wood* seems to have been fine since.
  2. Sorry to drag up my own post from the past but anyone able to answer? As I said above. I replaced the Dance unit in the 08 Fabia with a Swing unit which was a straight swap however... The Swing unit will not power on/off with the ignition and will only stay on for 30 minutes at a time (So it isn't seeing the ignition state as ON) Anyone any ideas why this might be and how I can fix it, maybe a programming thing or the pinout is different between the dance/swing units (seems unlikely) Cheers!
  3. I also suspect the module itself maybe at fault but can't seem to find out too much information regarding location, if its repairable or if it can be replaced DIY. Any ideas?
  4. Hey Folks, I've had a search around and cant seem to see anyone that has had the same problem and I haven't found a solution myself so I'm hoping someone can help. Our Fabia II has started having issues with the central locking/alarm system. When you lock the car it will unlock itself or trigger the alarm at random intervals and when you drive the car it will continue to lock and unlock itself even whilst moving. As it stands the only way to stop this is to remove fuse 45 for the convenience control system thus removing the power to the central locking etc. I have checked the battery state, tried removing the switch on the gear surround, checked that each of the locks is engaging properly and checked for fault codes all to no avail. I have even had the car at the Skoda dealership but they magically "Could Not Replicate." If anyone has had this issue or heard of something similar and could you please point me in the right direct and help me to diagnose/fix it! Cheers!
  5. Partially solved. Looks like someone had entered a wrong code. After leaving it on for an hour it finally accepted the code. I also realised the single plug does fit the double socket, just leaving one empty which I assume is for some other device on other cars. My final query is as to why the radio doesn't seem to power on/off with ignition as it should, any ideas?
  6. Hi folks, I have picked up a Swing headunit and code to replace the faulty Dance unit in the missus' Fabia 2. I have successfully removed the old unit and got the new one connected up (Pending aerial adaptions as the Dance has a single plug whereas the Swing has a double.) but I cannot get the unit to progress past the SAFE screen. The manual suggests it should display SAFE for a few seconds before 0000 for code entry however mine does not progress this far. I turned the stereo on AFTER the ignition and have tried taking the car for a 10 minute run as I read this may help, but still SAFE. It is also showing no strikes for incorrect code entry. Any support appreciated. Garreth
  7. Nope. The unit continues to just display "Safe" On a side note, replugging the Dance unit appears have solved some disc read errors on pre bought discs so it's less of an emergency. (Makes no sense but appears the case)
  8. Hey guys, I have searched around a bit but found no definitive answer to my question. By all means however if I have missed it, please point me in the right direction. I grabbed a second hand Swing unit for the fabia but it has no code, is there an easy way to find this or is my only option to pay out and send it of for decoding? Any help appreciated. Cheers
