Octavia mk2 PD diesel - draining fuel.
No I didn't, but doing it that way called for specific parts to couple on. I did it a different way, so it's all sorted now. I think the insurance company might get a bit p"ssed if I start drilling holes in their property.... either that or wonder how I was still driving it with it draining diesel everywhere.

Octavia mk2 PD diesel - draining fuel.
The car is a write off, and is being picked up on Monday. I want the fuel out of it, but don't want to damage the pipes.

Octavia mk2 PD diesel - draining fuel.
Thanks MicMac, but unfortunately I don't have the kit, and I don't have the time to wait for it to arrive, hence it's got to be a quick and dirty solution!

Octavia mk2 PD diesel - draining fuel.
Hi all. I have got to get some diesel out of the fuel tank, but the anti-siphon measures are frustrating my usual method! Can anyone advise which pipe to take off the fuel filter up front in order to be able to pump the fuel through using the ignition? Thanks.

Octavia MkII Key won't lock/unlock doors
Unfortunately, this video doesn't apply to mine, as mine is not a "hidden lock" version. Being an early mkII, I have the outer door lock. I tried the procedure anyway, and got no change.

Octavia MkII Key won't lock/unlock doors
Thanks. I tried this, but it didn't work. The key still starts the car fine, but won't work the locks.

Octavia MkII Key won't lock/unlock doors
Thanks. Sorry, I should have said that I changed the battery in the key. The key didn't seem to open the doors at all, even manually. I was still trying to get the door to unlock when the alarm went off! Yes it does.

Octavia MkII Key won't lock/unlock doors
Hi everyone. I have a weird problem. I have two keys for my Octavia, and I have left one of them in a drawer for a while. I went to use it, and it wouldn't unlock the doors on the remote. I tried to unlock it manually, and it set the alarm off! Once I got in with the other key, the faulty key still started the car fine. Even after starting (which will sync the key in my Audi), the key still will not lock or unlock the doors. Is there something I have missed, or do I possibly have a dead key? Thanks.

Odd fault with key
Hi. Thanks for that. I did put 2009 in my original post! I looked in the Owner's Manual before posting, and all it says is "Press any button on the remote control". I've done that, and more besides, and it is not synchronising. I am out of ideas.

Odd fault with key
Hi all. I have got an odd fault here. I have two remote keys for my MkII Octavia (2009). One of them works perfectly. However, one of them stopped locking the doors remotely yesterday. I opened the car fine with it, put it in the ignition to check the dash cam, and when I turned the ignition off again, the key suddenly wouldn't lock or unlock the doors remotely! It does unlock the doors, and turn the alarm off, if put in the lock. I have changed the battery in the key this morning, but that has made no difference. I have looked at the various "put one key in the ignition and the other in the door" solutions, and nothing seems to make any difference. Both keys still seem to start the car fine. Is there something I am missing, or is it a case of off to the main dealers?
