  1. Thanks chaps! Darren, I noticed them and I thought someone had fudged a repair then asked a mate to look on his and it was the same... I was quite shocked they come from factory like that.
  2. Cheers chaps, was thinking a hammer would do it.. fixed my squeak anyway just that left to do now.
  3. As per title really. Having tried to chase a squeak and rattle, I noticed that this pillar trim was loose at the top and upon gently bending it back, it looks like a clip of some sort has snapped off, no idea how or what the previous owner was doing. Anyway, I've tried a search but to no avail, anyone know how to remove it so I can collect the offending broken pieces and replace? As a side note, removed the side bolster from the rear seat today, what an arse to get back on!!
  4. Had a play with the manual mode on my Galaxy S7 Edge whilst in Prague the other day, this is just adjusting the aperture, no photoshop just straight off of the camera;
  5. No idea what that is except I spy a BMW lump in it, which looks like a V8.
  6. Tried them a few months back. I have been wearing glasses a few years now and I went in to get my eyes tested routinely and I enquired about them, more for a vanity thing than anything else although doing a lot of photography, looking through the view finder with glasses on is a pain. They were very good, checked everything in detail for free (days after my initial eye test) and ran through my options. One of my eyes has a stigmatism so the lens had to be more egg shaped. They sit you there and watch you take them in and out several times until you can do it or you are bored to your back teeth. I found getting them in and out, after 10 mins, not an issue at all. For me it was feeling them on my eyes, especially when I moved my eyes, the one with the stigmatism kept feeling like the lens would fall out my eye. My eyes got irritated an I gave up on them. To me they were more hassle than they were worth. I may go back to them in due course but for now I'll stick to being four eyes.
  7. Well today marks the start of my 2 week (re 17 days) holiday from work. Not washed my car since I've bought it, coming up to 3 weeks now.. so if I have time I may do that. Saturday I need to sort clothes out for my holiday, swing by town and in the evening myself and a few mates are off for a ruby for a mates birthday. Sunday morning I do need to nip into work and sort a few maintenance issues out with the fleet of vans before I disappear, then I am attending a mates daughters Christening, and will pop and see the grand parents later that afternoon. Monday I fly out to Prague for a week, can't wait! Went a few years ago, then went in March for a mates stag do, this time it shall just be a relaxing look around, sample as many beers as possible and see big phil to get us to into his "respectful club" and sort us out some shooting.
  8. Checked the springs, couldn't see anything broken. Strangely it's not done it again since. Strange! Just got to try and sort the squeaking and rattling interior now, its making me not like the car having come from a BMW lol.
  9. Evening all, another question (sorry). My Octavia 2 Vrs, just noticed today when parking, turning the wheel at a certain point i can hear a squeaking/creaking noise. It can be heard in and out the car. I know the steering is electric on these. Doesn't seem to do it whilst driving. What would it likely be? Suspension top mounts? or something related? It's not through the entire range of steering, just at a certain point.
  10. jim_not_jon all sorts of rubbish!
  11. I've an S7 Edge, for a phone the photos are stunning. Nice and sharp with good warmth and shadows, midtones and highlights are wonderful, perfectly adequate for an A4 print and perhaps A3 if in black and white. I think the new thing on the block will be optical zoom. I've owned DSLR's for years, current rig is a Fujifilm XT-10. A CSC that I can ramp up to ISO 6400 with very little noise. It's the best camera I have ever owned and looks retro too. It's a shame the lenses (although they are magnificent, better than Canon L glass imo) tear you a new sheriffs badge to buy them.
  12. New to skoda and new to petrol turbo cars, through town driving, the temp gauge eventually reaches 90 degrees but I noticed last night it dropped to about 70 when on a run at about 60mph, is this normal? As soon as i went back to town driving, the temp settled back at 90 again. Heaters and everything work which leads me to believe its not the stat?
  13. Thanks for the welcomes. Camelspyyder - I hope your name doesnt refer to the native creature where you work. Id keep out of shaddows! I recognise yours too Danny. Looks amazing. Reminds me of Darth vader haha
  14. Is there a bias to lincolnshire folk ???? Haha
  15. New around here (forum) but just bought a occy vrs. From Lincoln but unfortunatly at work this weekend but shall try to get to a meet. How regular are they? My own club Lincs Driver meet here too on the Second Sunday of the month. Great location.
  16. ..we don't all drive tractors...! My names James from the Lincoln, Lincolnshire, the home county of a terrible football team, the potato and the fabulous Sausage! I've been told this is the best place to come for Skoda banter and info. I've just picked up a 06 plate Octavia VRS. My previous car was a 2003 BMW e46 330ci. Miss it already but I had it two years an the gear box was starting to concern me so the time was right for it to go. The BM The Octavia. Ive a few plans for the octavia, but to start with I need to get it booked into paint for a scrape on the bumper and some paint on the nearside front wing. Also, not sure if anyone can help, but I have an annoying rattle. Im 90% certain its trim and its coming from the rear near side. Any ideas? Also when its dark and my lights are on, i can see a very faint flicker from the lights, and a dimming of them (and interior lights if they are on) when the steering wheels turned. Anyway thats me! James.
