  1. Collected a '20' plate Octavia SE from here yesterday (01st April). A perfectly satisfactory customer experience: I found the customer service to be unhurried (in a good way) with staff who were helpful, friendly and well-presented at what gives the impression of being a well-run dealership. I was able to get a fair part exchange deal for the vehicle I traded in and the car I purchased had been thoroughly prepared inside and out with the engine being spotless. I would certainly buy from this dealership again.
  2. Thanks Jeff for the Heads-up on the impending name change. Good to find another Bristolian on this forum too. I work not far from Blade Skoda (as it currently is) so when my car needs servicing I tend to drop it in. Couldn't think where I had heard of Heritage before but I think they have a VW dealership about a mile away (as the bird flies). I have never purchased from this dealership but hopefully the service that I have had from them in the past will remain good. Dave
  3. Only just seen this tonight. I wasn't aware of this but nice idea. Pity that there are people around who have nothing better to do than pick on a car for being yellow. I wonder, for pure curiosity, if there is a word for someone who discriminates against cars for their colour....? Dave
  4. Hi all, The 2017/67 Octy I got at the end of August 2018, which is one of the facelift ones, is going great. However having asked for - and got - a CD for Christmas I subsequently realised that the Octy does not have a CD player but has 2x SD instead. The SD, however, is an essential due to the satnav. Are there any CD players I could buy which would connect to the car's audio system through the AUX plug? Preferably not through the USB as I have, and use, Android Auto. Cheers for advise, Dave
  5. I must admit I am surprised to read the reviews above. I recently (end of August 2018) purchased an Octavia from this dealership after being offered a good trade-in value (£8000) for my previous one. Salesman (Elliott) was efficient, helpful and very easy to communicate with, both when I was at the dealership and by email, and this made buying my new '67' Octavia a very easy experience. My experience of this dealership earns them high marks. Dave
  6. Evening all, I recently had given thought to trading in my 2015/64 Octavia Hatch for a newer one but couldn't quite get as much of a trade-in value as I had hoped. The decision was made easier, however, when a mate of mine wishing to replace his 2001/51 Audi offered me a decent sum - higher than I had been offered previously by a dealer - for my 64 plate Octy (around 24,600 miles on the clock) to which I agreed and he has paid me for although he knows that I will be using it until I pick up its replacement. On Saturday 11th August I went to a dealership and left having put a £500 deposit on a reasonably priced 2017/67 Octavia Hatchback which I will pick up in the next few days. The car I am getting is one of the facelift models and, among other things, it also comes with a SatNav on the radio. I have used those radio units as we have a couple of '67' Skoda Superbs where I work. I am hoping that someone on the forum can tell me one thing. I presume that updates to the satnav maps get released once in a while so when they are released how do I go about getting the update (which, I hope, would be available for little or no cost)? Cheers, Dave
  7. I think I will wait until I see one in the flesh before I judge. The car in the picture above doesn't look all that bad though. As for when we may see it, a Czech website reports in a news article (written in English) carries this report which also gives an insight as to at least some of what we might see in 2018 and also mentions that, in 2019, we might see a hybrid..... http://www.radio.cz/en/section/business/skoda-auto-to-present-upgraded-octavia-at-the-start-of-2017 HTIOI, Dave
  8. Evening all, I realise this is not a BRISKODA event so apologies for posting it here but it is a Skoda event (organised by the Dean Forest Steam Railway, Gloucestershire in partenrship with Winners Skoda, Cinderford). The DFR have a Skoda weekend coming up: might be a good day out for any members on here who (or whose children) are interested in steam trains. VIP parking for Skodas and also 50% off trips to anyone who has a Skoda key fob. http://www.deanforestrailway.co.uk/events/detail/skoda-weekend I will be going to this: not too far for me (an hour or two). HTIOI, Dave
  9. Firstly congrats on the impending new arrival. Enjoy it. Secondly, in case it hadn't crossed your mind yet - although it soon will..... (see attached image)
  10. Update on this site: Skoda are only selling second-hand cars, as well as doing repairs, from this site. They are no longer selling brand-new. Dave
  11. A great shame as I remember seeing him on TV as host of a quiz show on Saturday evenings when I was younger. Every Second Counts: make the most of the ones you have left. RIP. Dave
  12. I was wondering what is going here as well. Been poking around the stocklists of various garages and notice that Murray's (Newton Abbot) does not come up nowadays when searching for dealers in / near Plymouth. Might have been tempted to look at their Octavia stocks. Dave
  13. Skoda have now moved on from here but there is no thread for the new site. The Skoda sign has gone from Flax Bourton but a new site has opened a bit further south. Blade Skoda (Weston-super-Mare), 10, Searle Crescent, Weston-super-Mare, North Somerset, BS23 3YX Phone: 01934 413093 I drove past the site the other day: it isn't a huge place. It can be found opposite the Peugeot garage on the same road. Dave
  14. Hi, Finding I can't download this but I used to have it on my old SatNav device. Does anyone on here have it who could email it in my direction? It would simply appear as "Australian Voice". http://www.smh.com.au/digital-life/cartech/chuck-a-uey-aussie-gps-knows-where-the-bloody-hell-you-are-20110125-1a3gt.html One colleague of mine said he had an Australian one where, if you kept ignoring it, the voice would pipe up with "Come on cobber. You're s'posed to be doing what I tell ya". Not sure if it is the same voice as I refer to above. Someone once emailed me the voice of Gary (one with a Welsh accent) so if anyone has the "Australian Voice" and could let me have it I would be grateful. Please PM and I will pass you an email address. Cheers, Dave
