  1. I gave Watfields a call this morning and the guy I spoke to put my mind at rest, he assured me there would be no issue and there never has been with the hundreds of them sold!
  2. BlockABoots, I was going to fit my spacers this weekend (same supplier as you, Watfields) but I was a little put off when I had a trial look as the spacers didn't fill the entire hub which is the same as yours (where you can still see the copper grease) did it not worry you, I've been trying to find other examples online but couldn't...
  3. Now I feel even more daft for not looking for this part of the forum earlier !! :/ Thanks for the replies though guys!
  4. Sorry if this sounds a bit daft but I keep seeing posts referring to VCDS and I'm wondering if it's something you can do yourself. I'm assuming it's some kind of OBD kit but what can you actually achieve with it ? I have a 16 plate TDI DSG vRS and I'd like to know if I can unlock anything hidden in the menus!!!
  5. Nice to see someone else with a Corrida Red VRS and Black Plus Pack ! Although mines the Hatch...I'm also thinking about those front splitters but I'm in the same predicament as you regards PCP.....hmmmmmm. This place is where I've been looking for them! http://www.maxtondesign.co.uk/product/octavia-iii/front-splitter-v2-skoda-octavia-iii-rs.html
  6. I think some people just like to have the windows down now and again, I know I do. But on a really hot day, windows up and aircon on They can look aesthetically appealing. Remember, what one person thinks looks good is different to someone else. I used to have them fitted to my old car, an Astra Sports Hatch. I'll be honest I took them off after a couple of months. They looked good but they were noisy (I tried playing around with fitment, nothing worked) and they slightly obscured my vision at the A pillar. I've heard good things about them for the VRS Hatch. (as long as you get the Skoda OEM ones) No noise and stops that annoying water drip you can get sometimes that soaks the seats when opening the door after raining. (I've had it a couple of times after parking on a slight slope) Plus the black deflectors against the red of my car looks pretty good in the pictures I've seen Again, it's personal choice
  7. Now the video isn't private you should be able to see it!! Blackvue DR450 Day and Night test footage https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yKi6i0qqiyM
  8. Here's a link to a video I've uploaded to YouTube for the Blackvue 450
  9. I picked up the Blackvue DR450 from Halfords last week. I swapped it for my faulty Nextbase 402G which I used to have in my old car (the battery in the 402G is rubbish and it will last you at best, 12 months although the footage is great) . The Nextbase fitted perfectly in my old Astra Sports Hatch but it just looked awkward and too low down on the Octavia so when I had the free replacement from Halfords I asked if I could swap it for the Blackvue. The only downside is I need to find a hard wire kit as plugging it in and taking it out every time is a bit rubbish :( As you can see from the pictures it's pretty inconspicuous and stays nicely up and out of view. From outside it's barely visible . The barrel shape is great as you can angle it to get the perfect view. I'll try to upload some footage to YouTube of day and night so you can get an idea of what it's like. 10. Had her 3 weeks now....still loving it now and finding any excuse to go for a drive ! [/url]Untitled by antmotton, on Flickr">http://Untitled by antmotton, on Flickr
  11. I'm looking forward to a drive up to the Lake District later on this month to meet my best mate who's just moved up there. Last time I went was in a Ford Transit helping with the move!! There are some nice fast winding roads up there so looking forward to it! It also means I get to clean her when I get home ...ha ha.....
  12. I bought it two weeks ago It was an ex demo car with 5k on the clock I used Auto Glym Products for the cleaning. Their Body Work Shampoo (which smells amazing!!), Auto Glym Aqua Wax after its been washed and while it's still wet (was a bit skeptical but it worked a treat!). 2 sprays per panel then polish it in with one cloth, wring it out then keep on going till you've dried the whole car, then some Auto Glym Extra Gloss Protection. This red comes up like a mirror and I'm getting addicted to cleaning her!
  13. Cheers guys, I was toying with the idea of removing the vRS badge but I quite like it. I payed about in Photoshop, removing it, moving it to where the OCTAVIA used to be, but I wasn't keen on either option so left it where it was
  14. Cheers mate, I keep wanting to clean it every other day! I love the double take looks it gets as well....
  15. Thought I'd tidy up the rear of my new vRS by de-badging. A bit of fishing line, some warm water poured over the badges, then some tar and bug remover left to soak on the sticky residue left over, really did the trick! I had to put a couple of plasters on my fingers where I looped the fishing line around them to stop it digging in but after 2 hours from start to finish I think it looks pretty good! I'm loving the fact I went for the red, I like the blue and white vRS's but there are lots of them around, I've only seen one other gen 3 red but that was an estate. I've also got the Black Plus Pack which makes her stand out a little more. It's the first time owning a car I've had people come up to me at petrol stations and say they love the shape and colour I've attached some before, during and after photos of the de-badging. It's a cheap way of making the car a little neater at the back, it's also easier to clean What are people thoughts on de-badging ? (I have kept them in case I want to stick them back on if and when I sell her!) http://IMG_9260 by antmotton, on Flickr http://IMG_9261 by antmotton, on Flickr http://IMG_9262 by antmotton, on Flickr http://FullSizeRender by antmotton, on Flickr
  16. Hello! Bit of back story to begin with! I've always liked the look of the Octavia VRS from the Gen 1, not so much the Gen 2 (I think it was the headlights...) but as soon as Gen 3 came out I loved it's shape again! One of my best mates had a last Gen Fabia VRS with the DSG gearbox. He's a car fanatic and absolutely loved everything about it, but said the DSG gearbox was brilliant.... He's the one that made me think about pushing for the Octavia VRS with the DSG. I looked at the prices of the new and nearly new and thought they were well out of my price range but I thought a trip to my local Dealership for a chat wouldn't hurt. Two days later I'm checking my insurance to see how much it'll be to change from a 2009 Reg 1.7Tdci Astra Sports Hatch (current car) to an Octavia VRS....( It was amazingly £100 a year cheaper!!!) and today I went and put a deposit down on a (Demo) 2016 Corrida Red VRS TDI with DSG with 5k on the clock and the Black Design Plus pack!! I was shocked at the deal they gave me and the fact they were able to get to very very close to my budget really surprised me! (more importantly the wife said yes before I did!!) I'm nearly 40 and quite giddy with excitement at picking up my new car next week!! sorry for rambling on, I'm just really excited..ha ha...
