  1. No nothing extra don't even use the usb or cig lighter to charge anything. I'm assuming the aerial is in the rear screen maybe there's a loose connector there
  2. Hi. I have a Mk3 vrs and all of a sudden I'm getting random traffic annouments when there is no traffic announcement and only 2 of the dab Stations work. Normal Fm is fine. I have pulled the unit out the glove box and can't see any issues with the connectors etc what else could it be. Any help would be appreciated
  3. Doesn't use any oil drives perfectly wheb the turbos clean loads of power to the red line in every gear. I don't think the turbos on its way out as it pull hard and smooth as silk
  4. Yeah I think the main problem is I do about 6 miles a day so may need to start taking it for a blast down the motorway now and again to use the turbo more
  5. I'm having to do the mr muscle every 5-6 weeks. Once done the cars great. How can there be so much crud getting in the turbo. All the hoses are good. I'm wondering if the actuator bar is corroded and gets deposits on it causing it to stick
  6. How long is this working for others. I've done this twice now and looks like it needs doing again as I've gone into safe mode today. Could there be another issue as once I turn the car off on on it clears and boosts fine.
  7. hi. just wanted to know what this metal fuse is for as while under the dash on my Mk1 Tdi 90 2002, noticed that is was just about to fall out. image upload no resize
  8. I just Torque lite, used it for a few cars now and works fine for checking codes and clearing lights
  9. I did this today and can confirm it works really well. My car had been going in to safe mode after 3k so checked the actuator and could barely push it at all. Left the mr muscle soak for 2 hours while pushing the actuator every 15mins and it's totally free'd up with a smooth 2 to 3 cm of travel now and no more boost or safe mode problems. Great guide thank you
  10. bugger, it appears this morning the starting issue is back.
  11. The plugs didn't make a great deal of difference what seems to have cured the issue so far was one of two things. I ran a tin of wynns engine flush and dropped the oil replacing it with a new oil filter and 5w30 fully synthetic halfords vw spec oil and also added some wyns xtreme diel clean to the fuel so far it's starting correctly first time. So either the oil was stinking dirty and the wrong grade or the diesel clean has cleaned the injectors ill keep an eye on it but it's fine at the moment. I never had any engine lights or fault codes
  12. managed to just get the glo plugs swapped over looking at them I would say they were ready to come out!!!!! shall see what happen in the morning ......
  13. This certainly seems to add up and yes on that first start there is a puff of white smoke. Ill get a set and change them and report back. thanks
  14. I am thinking is definitely fuel related. When I think about it, it is like it starts on 3 cylinders for 1-2 seconds.
  15. Hi, I have a 2002 tdi 90 mk1. Only had the car a couple of weeks and noticed that the first turn of the key every morning it has struggled to catch and start. I put a new starter on which hasn't really helped, she turns over really quickly as expected and once it does fire after 5-6 seconds is lumpy for 1-2 seconds then fine, and then will start instantly everytime without fail. I have put a Bluetooth code reader on and there are no codes etc. I haven't changed the fuel filter yet but was thinking of starting there. Any suggestions?
