  1. That looks like a good replacement, not a bad price either good luck Richard
  2. Thanks, I found the thing , very easy to miss, found the loudspeaker inside open circuit, soldered a 47ohm resistor across the terminals and reversing camera functional again. visited the local dealer to get a price and they wanted £44, so I've ordered a 1 1/4"( 35mm) 50 ohm speaker and a cost of £14.60 off flea bay
  3. Hi I've looked at the topic"Parking sensors not working" started Dec 23, and wondered if my problem is the same. I've been working under the rear headliner and I cant see or feel any buzzer on the right side. Its due a service in the next couple of weeks, as its due its annual trip to the Balkans. So maybe the garage I use will find a fault code. If it is the buzzer, any idea where it might be on my Yeti ??, I've run my hand along the inside rear edge above the tailgate hinges but couldn't fee anything like the picture in the Dec 23 topics
  4. The 2 sat nav antennas ,ebay, arrived today opened up the plastic outer cover, they are only push fit As I measured 12v on the blue Fakra connector , I carefully soldered a LM878L05 regulator on the pcb, discarded the long coax with a Female Fakra connector as the Skoda one is male, so just soldered the original lead on the pcb. the metal cover is only soldered on two corners easy to remove Plugged it in on the car , and a correct GPS position. :) Measured the DC voltage at the connector with board connected and it was 4v, NO need to fit a 5v regulator as the supply to the antenna is current limited, so used the second board without any supply regulation, and functional. The ebay boards are to big to fit in the cast housing so glued the new board in., I will try and repair the original board, as there is NO filtering on the ebay sat nav antennas. So will be useless in high RF fields . They are cheap , but its a fix coating less than 10 quid
  5. A little progress, measured 12v on both the Black and blue Fakra connectors under the antenna, If you undo the screws on the rear center set belt attachment, there is enough view though that and with the back of the headliner released to see what you are doing. So removed the antenna , and up to my workshop with it removed the 6 torx screws and the sat nav is a separate module, no sign of any corrosion. Next lift the sat nav module and look under neath, first device looks like either a GaAsFet or bipolar which feeds a saw filter then to an IC which again no locatable in house code .Looking under a microscope, There is a fair bit of green dendrite growth on all the device legs, I cant find the in house device codes fro the devices., looks like condensation damage. So I've ordered a couple of sat nav modules off ebay at £6.99 each, which I will take apart to get the pcb module and fix that inside the antenna assembly
  6. For some reason I cant get the split screen, I can only guess the firmware in the unit I have does not have the function, when it say the original navigation SD card, al I have it the last map version , and the map version for eastern europe. Thanks Bexhillian for the info, I'll have another go in a bit, as its a bank holiday its cold and peeing with rain here
  7. Sorry I dont have that manual, could you please paste her e Thanks
  8. Thanks , very useful , so the blue is the GPS., which makes sense as some of the 315's dont has the phantom power connector. and the antenna has a short pigtail of cables, I didn't see the connections under the head liner when looking at the antenna. . I'll measure the voltage out on the phantom connector , and see if thats up at the antenna. It also means I can get the antenna in to my work area, and have a look at the preamp, it may be repairable if defective. Where on the sat nav menu does it give a report on how many sats its receiving, I've missed that if it does Thanks again Richard
  9. This is now starting to get expensive, replaced the battery , made no difference as I suspected as the problem existed when the engine was running . Bought another RNS315, which arrived this morning. Had to purchase a code as the code the seller gave was rubbish. when eventually got it running, the sat nave showed the sellers road not mine, and to make matters worse , the DAB was non functional, so now to try and return the faulty goods and get my money back.. The antenna is clean and dry underneath. On the back of the RNS 315 there are 4 coaxial sockets , on the lower two white , then next to it a blue , and at the top left hand corner a black one, does anyone know which is the connector from the Sat Nav antenna ? also emerging from the antenna there are several coaxial cables, one of them is RG174 , brown covering and about 3mm dia, the other coaxial cables are black and larger I cant see where this smaller cable goes, dont think its the sat nav link from antenna to head unit, as RG174 is lossy at 1500MHz. Is there another unit between the head unit and antenna ????, all fuses have been removed and checked, and the connectors were all clean. I could remove the bottom plate on the antenna, and hope the connections are with connectors and not hard wired, where can I find details info ???? TIA Richard
  10. £72 later new 72AH battery and still exactly the same with the sat nav AS I said If it was doing it when driving when the battery is charging and the voltage is above 13V, unlikely to be anything to do with the battery. So its still got a location error of 25miles, still shows me traveling in the correct direction, mainly across fields., still no parking sensors, still pointing at the head unit Richard
  11. Battery at 12.25 after a drive is the RNS315 I have normal, the ones on ebay dont show the connector in the top LH corner

  13. I just went out and measured the resting state of the battery,. The car was last used Saturday afternoon, so 48 hours since last charged . measures 11.86v
  14. Hi, I have checked the battery a few times and fuses. I made the mistake of leaving a dash cam plugged in to the cigar lighter socket, not realising it does not get turned off with the ignition, so after a few days on the drive a flat battery. the dash cam takes over 1 amp, so after a few days. PITA I'm getting very suspicious of the head unit, as the errors are so large and if it was not getting enough signal from the sats I would expect to see the map showing some instability as well as where it thinks the car is , but the map looks stable and the arrow for the car moves in the correct direction. Any suggestions for getting a used one in the UK ?? a trusted dealer or individual Thanks
  15. Hi all A few weeks ago my sat nave on the Yeti, think its a RNS315, decided I was 40 miles away, the antenna assembly was suggested as there are know corrosion problems, I've checked and its a dry as a bone.. I did notice from the antenna 3mm coaxial cable. I've lifted out the Admunsen unit and reseated all the cables , no sign of the very distinctive 3mm coax cable, , strange ???? I've tried resetting the system, and after one reset It did correct it self after driving 10 miles. Only to do the same thing again It must be getting sat signals as its showing me moving, albeit not where I really am, everything working except it indicating the wrong place, software has been reloaded and also run from the SD card. Also my parking sensors seem off line , and sometimes on startup, when put in reverse the rear camera is working, even when there is the message optical parking not available, that only happens on first start up in the morning when cold. All other times no reverse camera and no beeps when reversing near obstacles, the car is only just run in 12 years old with 120,000 miles, diesel engine. Perplexing and very annoying thanks Richard
