  1. I have the same issue and had a very similar discussion with a Skoda dealer as the OP. I'd be happy to fit a replacement loom myself but struggling to find any alternative to just ordering from the dealers parts department. From past experience I'm not sure that the prices are very competitive. Anyone managed to buy a replacement loom at a decent price ?
  2. Had a similar problem on MkII Octavia which was caused by a split in the rear screen washer pipe where it passed through the boot. Not sure where the pipe runs in the Yeti.
  3. Thanks for the replies and advice, I think this Octavia thread better details the part that's failed and the process for replacement looks identical for the Yeti. http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/169421-rear-shocks-removal-replacement/?p=2058316&hl=rear%20bump%20stops&fromsearch=1#entry2058316 James I, I've already had the rear discs and pads replaced, fronts will likely need replacing before long.
  4. Thanks, opening post updated to include photo. Looking at the diagram it is the part on top of item 6. Does that mean it's only job is to keep the moving parts clean rather than act as some kind of bump stop. Poor choice of words with uprated and down rated, maybe stiffer or softer is a better description. TP. No I'm outside warranty, it's just had the first MOT.

    shock

  6. Although my Yeti Tdi 4x4 has just under 40k miles on the clock the near side bump rubber at the top of the rear shock absorber looks completely dead. It is breaking up and feels like a piece of soft foam rubber. I'm guessing I really should replace it fairly soon. So hopefully someone can help with the following questions. Is this an easy part for a DIY replacement ? Should I be worried about the condition of the rear shocks as well ? Are there any major benefits from changing the rear shock absorbers for up-rated, down rated parts if I need to take it to a garage. Thanks Edited to add photo
  7. I've just been through the same disc and pads issue at 30K. The original issue was brake noise which when I inspected looked like the inside rear offside pad had worn away, whilst all the other pads looked fine. The dealer changed the rear pads and said the discs were badly worn / corroded so should be done at the same time. There was no acceptance of the argument that the disc wear was most likely caused by the worn pad due to a possibly sticky piston.

    winter tyres

Thanks for the quick replies, it's for those reasons I've been leaning towards the 215/60/16. Also the fact it'll fills the wheel arches more like the originals.

    winter tyres

I think I have read through pretty much all the Yeti winter tyre threads and although I notice some members using the 215 x 60 x 16 tyre size I can't see a definitive answer to whether it's now considered as an acceptable size for the 4x4 140 Elegance in the same way as the 205 x55 x 16. I assume as it's a listed size in "The Plumbers" linked TUV document that implies TUV approval for it's use ?
