  1. Did you spray paint, wrap it or plastidip it? Looks good!
  2. Just read this thread from start to finish, I don't even own a Fabia! Keep up the good work (:
  3. Red arrow is from boost pipe post-turbo, blue arrow is going back pre-turbo to the 'hockey puck' and yellow arrow is pointing to the funnel vent. I have a forge splitter. No fault codes yet (: and many whoosh whoosh sounds!
  4. Hi All, I've got coilovers in my estate at the moment, and I'm experience loud thuds as I'm travelling over pot holes. One of the things I've researched on is the gap between the front top mount cup and the chassis (Photo 1, which is the actual car). I have read through Bowder1's DIY fix for this using the Polo 6N's cup, cutting the original Cup down, then securing them together using the rubber seal/grommet/sleeve thing (https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/308117-how-to-fit-poly-bush-top-mounts/), but I feel that I can do one step better. I have access to a Waterjet Cutter and a CNC Mill/Lathe; this is what I am planning to do: Photos 2 and 3 show what I *think* is what Bowder1's DIY ends up being, where the modified Polo/Octavia cup (blue) is merged together touching the top mount bush (red) and the bottom nut (black). The top nut (green) secures the cup. Photos 4 and 5 show what I plan to do. I know the diameter of the cup and the through I need for the threaded section. I can cut a piece of, let us say 6mm aluminium plate, to form the new 'cup' (blue), there is enough threaded section left for the top nut (green) to sit on top. The only down side i see from this is that the new cup/plate may flex when tightening down the top nut, and the fact that the chassis (grey) isn't parallel with the cup/plate. Would this be a problem if I tightened it down so that it is parallel and touching? Photo 6 is an addition to 4 and 5 by adding a sleeve (yellow). I am able to make the sleeve separately or as one piece (joining yellow and blue) so that the cup is as close as I can get it to the chassis by machining using the CNC from bar stock. Questions that I would like answering: 1) Does the 'cup' need to touching the bottom nut and the bushing 2) Is there supposed to be a gap between the cup lip and the chassis 3) Does the rubber seal act as a damper when the suspension travels up and down 4) If the answer to 2) is No; can I fix the 'cup' parallel to the chassis so that there is no movement of the strut 5) Does anyone see any fault in what I'm attempting to make (blue plate in Photo 4 and 5, or yellow and blue combined in Photo 6) Thank you for reading this far.
  5. If I remember correctly this is my car (Rob Clubley's old car) and the 'black trim' is just black matte vinyl wrap. I don't remember when he put it on but it is still on there to this present day.
  6. Dan, could you elaborate why would you not want to fit the Splitter type? I have got one on my VRS AUQ engine without a problem so far (1 month). I've been running it below the recommended amount of clicks however, 15ish?
  7. Hey Danny, I'm about to make my second Powerflex Bushing purchase some a local distributor here in Auckland, New Zealand. He referred me to the Powerflex website (https://www.powerflex.co.uk/road-series/products/Octavia+Mk1+Typ+1U+2WD+(1996-2004)-130/1.html) have you looked at purchasing one of those? Could be easier to ask for fitment as you're in the same country (: Sorry not much help!
  8. What is your offset for the OZ Opera Pegasus and your newly acquired BBS LMs? Because I've bought rims last week and they are 18x8.5 front 18x9.5 rear +35 all round, and from researching on this forum I'll be needing 5mm spacers for the front. Do you think you'll be running into clearance issues with your 9" front rims?
  9. Whoa looks like a big undertaking for a wee hole! I'm pretty OCD too and that'll **** me off but surely there is a way to plug it with something else haha maybe a phone holder? How long the whole process take?
  10. @guss84 - Did those rims come with the vRS markings? If so that's neat!
  11. What side skirts have you got, they look menacing!
  12. I'm still liking the xxr's but the new rims look great too!
  13. Here is one from last weekend when it wasn't raining and no earthquakes. I haven't had the chance to take good photos yet but, soon!
  14. Hey guys, I thought I'd finally post my introduction after being surfing in the background for months.. My name is Harris and I've been fortunate enough to take over Rob Clubley's Octavia Mk1 estate on the 21st July this year! Thank you for taking the time to read, cheers (:
