  1. Agreed! I want to have a go at making my car look and (even more) sexy and uber-shiny, but don't really have any idea where to start. Reading some of the posts about detailing and waxing in here though gets my eyes glazing over in no time...
  2. And I thought I had a hard time when it came to car insurance: 27 year old single, employed male, 1 year NCB '56 2.0 TDI L&K (no mods!) £250 excess I guess my postcode down in SW Wales must be fairly favourable, as I`m only (only!) paying £620 for the year through Budget, whom I found through either MoneySupermarket or Confused.
  3. I`m going to put my neck on the line here, by calling you "It Will Take-Offs" a bunch of eedjits, but it simply won't magically take off. Its the volume of air flowing over the wing which produces lift, thereby pulling the plane upwards and allowing it to take off, not it's groundspeed. Hence why, at sea, an aircraft carrier will turn INTO the wind before launching planes, to increase the lift given to the planes on take-off. Anything else you need explaining? Life? God? Chaos Theory? Unified Theory of Relativity?
  4. Got a Parrot 3200 LCD installed yesterday (along with a Blaupunkt Memphis headunit). Seems alright so far, but doesn't synchronise contacts automagically with my LG Chocolate. Not much of a problem, as I still have my old phone with all my contacts in it, which should work. I have yet to spend any length of time playing with it though. Matt
  5. Well, the dealer has replied, and have said that they can't retro-fit the integrated bluetooth/handfree setup. I`m a little disappointed that its not available, but I have moved on, undaunted. I`ve been looking at some headunits which combine regular functionality with bluetooth. Has anyone had any experience with these? I saw in particular the Sony MEX BT5000 and the Clarion WXZ 468RMP. Both of a similar price, around the £250-300 mark. I`d have to fund this by selling my beloved Dension, though! Now, if I could only find a headunit which had bluetooth support, AND a USB connector so I could attach an external hard drive, then I`d be happy... Any suggestions?
  6. The Stream headunit in my new Octavia does read ID3 tags. The navigation system is a little clunky (coming from having a super-sexy Dension DH-103), but it works - there is a "folder advance" and a "file advance" button, no tree display. I`d change headunit as I don't want loads of CD's floating around my car, but I haven't yet seen anything which looks sexy enough for my liking. And I haven't figured out exactly what functionality I`d lose! Matt
  7. Bosnjo, I sent them an email this morning regarding that. I think it was your earlier post which got me all excited about the idea of bluetooth integration. As yet, no reply to the email. I may pop around to see them this afternoon. Matt
  8. After reading pretty much *all* the threads on here relating to bluetooth and handsfree kits, I am considering having either a Parrot 3200 or a Sony Ericsson KCB-700 kit installed. The trouble is, I`m a bit of a snob, and like things to look perfect. I`m a little bit worried about having pikey-looking microphones hanging from the roof, wires trailing all over the place, and little plastic displays and cradles hanging from air vents (which is why I would prefer to have the OEM bluetooth/handsfree kit installed). Does anyone have any photos of their Parrot or SE install handy, so that I can put my inner aesthete to rest? Cheers, Matt
  9. Ray, Did you ever have any luck getting this integrated setup? After reading a few posts about it here, I think I`d be quite interested in it, too. Regards, Matt
  10. I picked up my new Octavia 2.0 TDI today, and all I can say about Simpsons is how great the service was. From walking onto their forecourt a fortnight ago, to driving off this afternoon, all the way through the buying process I have had a distinct warm and fuzzy feeling - helped, no doubt, by their willingness to do a good deal and to bend over backwards to help a customer! If friends, family or colleagues were to consider buying a car, used or new, I will happily recommend they have a chat with Sylvain, or any of the other guys and girls at Simpsons. 10 out of 10 so far!
