  1. Nothing smart in buying a VW Group car, even Skoda just for the faith. If you don't like the car design but still buy it, faith&brands can only empty your pockets; the mind/brain is already devoid of anything purposeful.
  2. Wonderful view. That glass costs 1000+ euro. What concept model is that from ?
  3. Read : Vision Line Height (VLH) https://tall.life/best-cars-for-tall-people/
  4. I am really serious, i hate cars with the roof on my head and small windows ! Stupid design for tiny people with tiny brain - like the owners of VW Group !
  5. I didn't like what i saw visually so i didn't buy the car although i tested both combi and standard model. Some other people said the same - like : "they should have put a 12-13 cm taller frontal windshield and less metal at the top. Other than that it is a practical car but MKII had better suspensions in base models (same as passat), and a was made with much more love compared to these modular MQB platforms. Materials and fitments are not good either on MKIII Octavia - just like you said, the Superb is slightly better but not VW Passat levels. They made Skoda to have a cheap brand image, and VW medium level, so you get better looks and feels on VW, although inside they are the same soulless MQB platforms. That simply means the last car you used had a worse windscreen design than MKIII Octavia and was even more claustrophobic. Don't be fooled, Octavia III has a bad frontal window dimension and design. But if you go to a car with a big windscreen and great visibility + tall roof you can't go back to the so called family cars that are not family cars at all. Just use a measuring tape and check the windscreen in height ! Please let me know your findings.
  6. If you don't have height adjustment you are screwed. It is still a very design since if you are bothered with the visibility and can't see properly then that car is useless even if it is called Ferrari. Skoda doesn't need more metal to gain strength, this is a bad excuse. I didn't buy an Octavia because it felt claustrophobic ! But now i got the major reason why it felt claustrophobic in the first place.
  7. The claustrophobic feel some may experience is also generated from the fact that VW Group decided to cut costs and make a tiny windscreen. Yes, that is correct, the Skoda Octavia front window is missing like 12-13 cm of glass in the top section. I don't understand how such a big car company has so many incompetent people hired that are paid crazy high. The small windscreen reduces visibility and makes you feel like you look through a tunnel. In my case, too much of my visual field of view sees the interior roof of the car - instead of the road or the sky. Dumb dumb dumb. I advice all people currently interested in Skoda Octavia III buyers to stay away from this car as it has major design flaws and wait maybe for IV version.
  8. Some people have good humor, i appreciate that. Some don't know when to stop. I am not trying to prove anything, i just reported my findings. I will try to go to a showroom again and try to photograph them, although not sure a smartphone camera will fit in there. Have you seen this picture : I put my hand as high as i could - end of console (much higher than what the red point shows) then tried to go behind the rubber, i found at least 2 steal needles with sharp points, and these points were against the footrest material.
  9. The spikes can hurt you if the front of the car, during an accident, is moved enough towards the front passengers. Please go check the thickness of the spikes yourself to have a personal opinion. What i don't like is the finish with the spikes on the Octavia 3 and i still question what is the purpose of those spikes.
  10. 5* is also because the car doesn't kill you when you make an accident at 64 km/h. That means you have 32 km/h and the other car also 32 km/h. At 50 km/h + 50 km/h the Octavia III engine kills both front passengers. So ncap is only good for city accidents mostly. Odd ? No !
  11. Nissan Primera. The Skoda official dealer said to me that all cars made after 2008 financial crash are crap (including VW group -> Skoda) and that cars made before 2008 crash are the last good cars that were made and have much better components and higher build quality. Because after the 2008 crash, car makers didn't sell so many cars as before, so they had to cut costs and sell worse cars to gain more profit, since they could no longer win their money by selling in huge quantities. In case of an accident they can easily pierce the rubber and enter my legs. Simple as that. Because i am smart and look for things before i buy. The spikes were present on new cars in the showroom. Nothing broken. Sharp needles that keep the footrest rubber from going further back probably. (joke) Maybe the arrow/spikes is the new core branding. See video :
  12. Don't mix topics. What about the front passenger seat in case that seat doesn't go low. (doesn't have vertical positioning option)
  13. This is no joke. I don't know how to describe that place in English better. They are similar to pigeon spikes posted above but much thicker. The place is behind the rubber - very high where you manage to put your hand behind the place that represents the footrest. Put your hand behind this place and try with your fingers to hold on the thick spikes that have sharp points : Both Octavia III 2013 and 2017 facelift models have it. VW uses some parts from Passat but not all. The finish level is cost cutting measure.
