  1. Picked up two weeks ago and very pleased with it. Replaced VRs Tdi 4 x 4 Estate. Haven’t yet decide the best view for the Digital dashboard. Came with umbrella but not located under the passenger seat. Moulding is curved and looks like it should hold it but can’t see how to open it. Disappointed that can’t permanently set the driving mode but have to set every time you set off. Got dealer to change the original black/silver Extreme as too bling for me.
  2. Dependant on election result, picking up a VRs Challenge hatch in white with sunroof and virtual cockpit on Saturday. Got a great deal after service to my VRs diesel 4 x 4 estate dumped all its oil 30 miles after service. “Faulty” oil filter gasket blamed.
  3. A friend needed a window switch on his 4 year old Boxter. Porsche dealer gave him VW part number to buy as same part but far cheaper from VW. Would be very surprised if things like wheel bearings were different across all VW brands.
  4. Mine replaced last month but they had to take a photo of each with the VIN Number before Warranty approval
  5. Interesting that Diesel Vrs and 4x4 have reappeared on the configurator. My annual mileage has now dropped from 20k+ to 7k so no longer require a diesel. As above, traction and stability is far better. No wheel spin out of corners where friends 150bhp car suffers.
  6. Anyone heard any word of that being introduced? Currently have diesel 4x4 which is great but next car will be petrol and would be seriously concerned about traction (lack of). Perhaps too close to other VW/Audi products or will we have to wait for new Octavia in 2020?
  7. I would run it in sport but haven’t found a way of getting it to change into 6th. Might just be me. Didn’t find any significant economy improvement running in ECO.
  8. Temperature was around -5C for four days. No sign that the battery was low and it’s only 18 months old. No sign of the problem recurring and plenty of diesel in the tank and not cold enough to start waxing. Was in Henrys and going back next Thursday. Have been happy with them up TIL now but it took several calls over four days to get to speak to the service manager.
  9. Put my diesel VRs in for its 20k service a week past Saturday and then didn’t use it till last Wednesday. Weather was very cold so used my wife's car as it’s garaged so doesn’t need scraping. When I tried to start it the starter clicked followed by a whine that sounded like some kind of overload. Called Skoda Assist and their technician said he’d never experienced that before. He persisted and on the third attempt it started but was very, very rough for 10-15 seconds and eventually when revved it smoothed out and started perfectly thereafter. He thought perhaps there was fuel In the fuel rail that was injected at the wrong time in the cycle, causing pinking. I can’t understand how a diesel pinks as you surely can’t get pre-ignition before compression. He suggested that the garage may have installed a software upgrade that was corrupt but they say they wouldn’t do that without asking me (which I don’t believe) and hadn’t. Going in next week to get any fault codes checked. Anyone experienced this or suggest what it could be?
  10. Wanting to change some of the codes on my Vrs and can no longer find the map of people prepared to help with this.
  11. Have tried the liquid Clearalex but no better than anything else. Have also tried Prestone and Halfords Pine but didn't find them terrific. Headlamp washers certainly go through the liquid. I used to top up once a month now virtually weekly.
  12. Looking for recommendation for best additive to get rid of traffic film. Years ago used sachets of Clearalex but no loner appears to be available.
  13. I also have an estate and can only vouch for 5 days of commuting 60 miles per day on the M8. Haven't seen the car in daylight since Sunday so back may be filthy but now have hardly had to use rear wipe and only used wash once since mudflaps fitted. Appreciate that I'm not driving on the roads that Ari Vaatanen was brought up on.
