  1. If you dont have access to a garage your only option would be a water proof tarp over the car. I ordered my Tolleys and it arrived the following day.
  2. Well extensive water test today and pleased to report no leaks. Happy days. Thanks again for the excellent information.
  3. Hello, first of all many thanks for the amazing information supplied. I wish I had found this article before stripping out our yeti interior and roof lining. This did however confirm that our car has exactly this problem. I currently have the car in the garage with the Tolleys drying. Will water test it tomorrow afternoon. Fingers crossed. I am not suprised that these roofs end up leaking. The amount of flex in the frame when you close the roof huge and all that flex and pressure ends up on the failing joints. Totally a design issue. Oh well if this sorts it great if not the car is history. Love the car will replace it for a non sunroof model. Time will tell.
  4. Hi forgot I satrted this thread. Solved the problem:thumbup: traded the car with offending beeping problem for a SE:D New one dosnt do it. Problem solved:rofl: Cheers
  5. it would be a year for me as I use about £1500 -£2000 in diesel a year the joys of lots of driving:D
  6. You can get a conversion kit that will allow you to run your VRS on new straight veggieoil see ELSBETT-OnlineShop click on Cars then search for your skoda veggie oil is 0.55p/ltr at costco cheep fuel not sure if I will go down this route untill my warrenty is out tho and I agree with above 25-30% bio is ok in most diesels
  7. Hi lummox Nice caliper like it lots but do ther fit under the 16" alloys like the 312's do or do yo have to go to 17" wheels?
  8. Hi all Not posted for a while. I am one of the lucky ones and my 07 VRS only suffers from the "stutter" once in a blue moon so it never bothers me. However I have a very good relationship with my Skoda dealer in Aberdeen and was chatting to a tech at service time and the subject of the stuttering engines came up. Without batting an eyelid he said "yeh common fault, theres an ecu softwear upgrade to sort that out" As my car is mostly fine I am not going to have it tampered with but I thought you guys might be interested. Just for your info my dealer has Skoda, Seat and Audi on the same site and also has a VW franchise elsewhere in Aberdeen so they have the VAG info coming in from all quaters. Cheers
  9. well done Clive you got there in the end. Makes the rear seat look much better. Told you it was a simple job to do.
  10. thanks for the positive comments. was in to minds to start with but now its there very happy:thumbup:
  11. just make sure your partsman orders the correct centre slides they are different to all the others. Only cut the minimum amount of cloth so its a stretch fit round the top collar of the slides. The slides are sided and should only fit one way(one is a square fit O/S and the other a round fit N/S and has the hight lock adjuster on it ) but be careful as the square one will go into the round hole and once its in its in. otherwise its feel for the holes in the seatback, cut the cloth, push in slides till they click lock into the seat and slide the headrest in. 20 mins job done:thumbup:
  12. eeerrrmmm :O:O didnt get alot of change back from £150 in the end because of the leather. but hey you only live once and cant take it with you
  13. As the per the headline got the centre rear headrest fitted to my SE. Took a long time coming as waiting for the matching blue stiching. Was very very nervious when cutting my lovely leather:eek: but as it turned out was quite an easy job. I had good advice beforehand by the leather trimmers and it looks like a factory fit. Still think Skoda should have fitted this in the spec to start with. just saving up to get the door cards done next. I know its not everyone cup of tea but I realy like it. What do you guys think?
  14. Hi Looks like you need these http://www.briskoda.net/forums/items-sale/octavia-powerflex-bushes-new/89865/ Octavia wishbone powerflex bushes will sort your prolem right out and its not that hard a DIY job as well Hope this helps:thumbup:
  15. I take it from this comment that you didnt fit the headrest guides. the headrest is just loose in the holes??
  16. this is a straight forward easy jod. The holes and fixings for the guides are in the rear seat. all you have to do is feel along the top of the rear seat and you will easily feel where the holes are. using a very sharp blade cut just enough of the fabric away to match the hole underneath. take your time and do a neat job you dont want to cut the hole to big as you ideally want to stretch the fabic round the guide. there is no need the treat the cut cloth with anything as it wont unravel or tear. the guides are sided so make sure you fit them them to the right hole. then all you have to do is bang them in and they clik lock into place. once there in they are in for good. the whole job took me about 30 mins and looks factory fit. mind you I was very nervious about cutting my seat as mine has leather hope this helps
  17. Did the seat surgeons manage to match the blue piping/stitching? Did you have top send them your own doorcards?

  20. there is no noticable increase in smoke just down in power I will search for "Cage mod" dont know that one
  21. Well I am going to clean the intercooler anyway just for peace of mind. I know someone with the same much younger motor so will check part numbers and do a swap to see if there is any difference. If it improves things I will price a maf from the dealer and price one from my local Bosch dealer and take it from there. If I get a new one I will play with the old one, clean it etc and see what happens Cheers
  22. I did a poll on this subject many months ago see http://www.briskoda.net/forums/fabia/fabia-vrs-se-leave-standard-modify/77057/
  23. Hi Baz How it going with you Fella:) thanks for the links but I would like to hear from people who have done it and what their experiance has been. And I would still like to know if you need to remove the IC temp sensor prior to cleaning.
  24. I have a PD 130 TDI with 80K miles on it. I have recently noticed a drop of in fuel MPG and having to push it a bit harder to make it go. It also is a bit lumpy on idle. Have replaced the airfilter with a K&N and have been running Millers sport 4 for about 1000 miles had a big service and had it checked for fault codes etc but its still sluggish. I have read several threads on here and on other forums about cleaning and flushing the oily crud out of the intercooler. I have taken the top intercooler pipe off where it meets the intake manifold and yes there is oily sludge in there. I have seen the "how to info" on stu.com and it is easy enough but has anyone done this and dose it make a difference. Do you have to remove the intercooler temp sensor before putting the solvent through the intercooler? I am also thinking about cleaning the mass air flow meter. again I have searched and read info on this but again has anyone on here done this and found it to be a benifit. I dont want to waist time doing things that wont help or risk damaging things and leaving me stranded with a big bill. Any advise would be appriciated
