  1. anyone? dont mind paying a little bit
  2. yeah, but not too bad, 40 mile down the A1
  3. strange isnt it! where abouts are you out of interest
  4. no it definitely does .. the unit has DAB, I have an antenna connected, which I know works as my previous unit had DAB .. I've done quite a bit of reading up on this, and DAB can be enabled/disabled on the rns315 via VCDS .. I even know how, only problem is I dont have it haha , below is a step by step, and I have screenshots too select control module -- 37 navigation -- coding 07 -- bit 4, DAB radio inactive (tickbox)
  5. I need someone with VCDS to help me please, I'm located up north in Gateshead but willing to travel to you if you're not too far .. it's just to enable DAB on my RNS315 unit
  6. £7.50 per HP, you won't get that cheap gains anywhere else .. it's not unnecessary at all! and if she deems so, tell her it cost £50 lol
  7. yeah the golfs do have ones that are quite similar, I prefer the look of the audi ones though thanks, the suspension is lowered on vogtland springs
  8. the tips were provided by the fab shop that welded them on .. they're weld on only you couldnt attach them with clamps or anything the wheels are 19" audi segments
  9. probably a good idea, I wish I just went straight for the welded system from the off.. I'll try upload a pic of it now
  10. sorry I dont remember .. they were relatively cheap off ebay, around 15 quid, rusted a bit though! In the end I got bigger and better proper stainless ones welded on
  11. about time we had an update haha .. man I bet thats fun to fling around
  12. I guess the distance makes things more interesting, fair point! haha
  13. old post I know but I couldn't help but notice this part .. did you ever think of you know, riding it to the new house? lol
  14. that is true, hope you didnt take my comment as belittling etc, it wasnt meant that way .. just thought everyone had heard of it hah
  15. strangely I seem to be getting better MPG? I'm on course for almost 700miles to this tank, the only time I've ever got close to that was a 5 hour trip up into the highlands of Scotland and back I didnt think there would be any difference between the EGR mapped out and the EGR physically removed
  16. dont tell me you've never heard of airbag suspension before?
  17. after the car **** itself it has forced another mod .. basically the bolts holding the drivers side driveshaft onto the gearbox snapped, and the driveshaft enjoying its new found freedom decided to bounce around smash not only an oil line, resulting in the contents of the engine all over the road, but also the EGR cooler spilling the coolant everywhere as well so after getting a second hand drive shaft and fixing the oil return line, I decided to take advantage and fit the darkside developments EGR blank and EGR cooler delete.. I already had it mapped out so probably wont see any differences, but its nice to know its fully gone now
  18. Sorry for the spam! however .. I'm confident I can do the drop links after a little digging around .. but that also unearthed bad reputations from both starline and GSF so what brand drop links should I be looking at? any of the below? Corteco £22 Delphi £24 TRW £26 Febi £26.50 Meyle £32 they're all from euspares.co.uk
  19. I can also actually get the links from GSF car parts for £17 .. will these be ****e? lol
  20. first of all, apologies this is about my 2011 VW Passat Estate 2.0 TDI.. not a skoda lol so I have a rear offside ABS sensor error on my 2011 estate .. garage has quote 85 quid to supply and replace the part, reasonable or not? Also, I have a knock which is coming from the front ARB links .. again I'm wondering if the 70 they've quoted to supply and fit replacements is a good price or not? also.. are either of these easy enough to do by the side of the road? I'm handy with my tools but have no lift, so not sure whether taking these on just on axle stands would be biting off too much? I can get a pair of 'starline' arb links from ECP for £26 so if I could do these myself would save a decent amount of money
