  1. Hi Folks. I'm looking to upgrade my dipped H7 bulbs to a 4500 / 5000k kit for my 06 octavia RS. I'm just wondering if anyone here has done the same, and if so which one would you guy's recommend? I was thinking of going for the 50w option. I just don't want any issues with the Canbus system . I would appreciate any advice you may have on manufacturers, models, suppliers etc,. Thanks Guy's!
  2. I am now the proud owner of a dodgy coil pack on cyl 2 in my 06 RS... After been plagued with a list of problems this is the last straw.. My warrenty expired on the 14th of April. I have been informed by the garage that they will replace the offending coil pack as a good will gesture.. there are no coil packs available in Dublin so it's gone on back order.. Now the strange thing is no eengine management light came on. I had the car at a steady 80km in fourth gear and I just felt the car driving very jumpy but it is fine in idle mode... What do you guy's think? Have the garage got it wrong? Also, should insist on all 4 been replaced for the latest revision. I would appreciate your help on this.
  3. Lmao off at that coment:D . Sophie has a touch of colic which makes for plenty of screams from the rear of the car. I will have to get a louder exhaust to counteract that noise. The garage couldn't take the car into to carry out the repairs which is a real pain in the ***. Just wondering has anyone else had an issue with a rattle from the passenger side. I know MICK had an issue with a rattle from the drivers side which turned out to be a loose panel.
  4. Cheers guy's. Just got back to work today which meant I didn't get a chance to view any posts. Many thanks for all your good wishes. Rally Ireland is on the cards and I would not rule out the boot nappy changing facility.... I am sure it is not the crasiest thing that has been done in the back of an Octavia!! Linda and Sophie are doing very well. Pity I couldn't say the same for the Octi. The rattle from the dashboard from the passanger side of the car has got very bad. (verified by Gaff ). It's going back to the dealers to have the dashboard taken out and hopefully remove whatever is causing the rattle
  5. Ya Gaff that was me. Apparently they have replaced Quite a few of the rear wiper motors. MY rear parking sensors are playing up now. Just as I go to move in reverse the pici on the stream radio lights up like a christmas tree even though everything is clear behind. The leather is also peeling from the gear **** and just to wrap it up my front suspension is creakin... Almost forgot, I had a rear window motor give up on me last week... I am afraid this will be my lost Skoda, not because of the after sales service but because the lack of interest that Skoda manufacturing have in keeping there dealers up to date on any modded parts or fixes for these numerous problems. Only for this web site and the excellent tech help that you guys are providin we or the dealers would not have a clue how to fix the problems that some of us are experiencing....
  6. Guys, just wondering what brand are Gs-D3's. I am in urgent need of 2 front tyres on my mk 2 rs. Only 8k miles done on the Bridgestones!!!
  7. Hi there, This seems to be a very common problem with the new RS. On my RS, I have traced it to the passenger side rear seat clip. I have had several people in the back to try and source the rattle, and all were in agreement. I drove around with the seats folded down and the car was rattle free. I then wedged a piece of cardboard into the vertical section of the seat clip with the seats in there closed position... Still Rattled. I then wedged the cardboard into the piece that you squeeze to release the clip..... THIS HAS CURED THE PROBLEM I explained to my local dealer about the problem and how I sourced the noise. They have in turn agreed to replace the seat clip under warranty... I should have the new clip by next Monday. I was feeling as **** as you were about car, BUT trust me, when you get the car back rattle free the drive will make up for the **** feelings you have now. Hope this helps:thumbup:
  8. What a ******. How the hell does he expect to sell that pile of crap... I wonder does it belong to Stevie Wonder:rofl:
  9. I had the car back to the dealer. They decided to lube up the ARB bushing to see if it was causing the noise. One gentle press on the passenger side of the car, and the noise was still there. They have agreed with me that the noise is coming from the shock and have decided to replace both shocks on the front. So, hopefully by this day next week it will all be resolved.
  10. Hi All, I need some technical help with a suspension query please. I am driving a 5 month old Rs with 5k on the clock. It has developed a loud hissing noise with a slight scraping/ squeaking from the front passenger side suspension. I notice it when I am travelling slowly over slightly bumpy ground, or when mounting or dismounting speed ramps. It is definetly getting worse with every week that goes by. I have mentioned it to my dealer and he said he is going to change out the Anti-Roll bar bushings firstly to see if this will cure it. I can't fault the dealership, but I feel the problem lies with a faulty shock absorber or spring. I would really appreciate any help with this problem guys:thumbup:
  11. I have the very same problem with those rear seat catches. The noise is definetly coming from where you unclip the rear seats. I have had three different people in the rear of the car to identify where that rattling/ buzzing noise is coming from. All three have said it is definetly coming from the seat release clips. The only way I have managed to silence it is my wedging a piece of strong plastic into the clip to stop it moving. This is hardly the proper fix for this problem, and I feel after spending 34K on an Rs I should be getting better build Quality than this. I will book my car into Monaghans for Friday to see if they can rectify this. I will keep you posted guys:thumbup:
  12. How's a goin, Welcome aboard.
  13. Aw Jeasus,   It was really nice knowing you Colm:rofl: Only kiddin.. Best of luck to yourself and Naomi for the future See ya in Donegal for the Rally.
  14. Hello Folks, I have just noticed a rattle coming from the rear passenger side. I thought it may be a problem with the rear head rests. When the rear seat is dropped into it's forward position I noticed that the outside bollster is very loose with no clip to hold it in place. From moving around the cables behind the bollster I was able to reproduce the rattle. When I tried the seat bollster on the drivers side there was very little play in it. I was hoping you guys would be able to check out your cars to see if this is a problem common to all Octi's. I know Gaff's head is wrecked at the moment with a similar noise. Any help with this would be appreciated:thumbup: MC GYVER
  15. I am married to Linda seven years this July. Couldn't imagine been single again.
